Belt Placement on 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass

Try pulling on it VERY SLOWLY if that don't work then you need a new belt.

Go look at another car just like yours. You can maybe find one on Craigslist, or on a lot. Just pretend like you are gonna buy it, take a pic under the hood, then go fix your own.

Or, a good auto-parts store or the GM dealership in your area may have a diagram.

mcdevito75 here, I don:"t think there is a fan belt changeing diagram for your 86" you can order the new belts and mark them Water pump, alternator, power steering. as you order them. The power steering pump is the most difficult to loosen and tighten, you"ll also need a crowbar to hold the various units tight after you install the new belts as the belts can"t be too lose nor too tight. Best bet let your local shop change the belts they last a good while and you have the piece of mind all is adjusted correct.

Diagram? just v belts. It should have 4...... ALT PS A/C and Air Pump.

make sure it's tight!

Have you checked under the hood, should be a belt diagram some were around the fan shroud .

CLick on the link below, insert the year and make of the truck and click on the belt you're replacing and you'll get a diagram. Best of luck!
