Question about Toshiba 50H72 50" Rear Projection Television
I have a red blur across the middle of the scrren. does anyone know what it is? Could it be the optical block? (if this tv has one) or could it be something to do with the convergance?
Hello, is the blue blur the only blue on the screen? The reason I ask is because the vertical defection to the blue CRT might be going bad and producing a blue line across the screen. I doubt that it is a convergence problem, but it may also be a magnetism problem and you may need to degauss your set with a degaussing coil (check ebay for specials on this device). I have seen a lot of the projection TVs end up needing to be demagnetized (degaussed). Try degaussing it first and then look at the possibility of a vertical deflection problem and then possibly a convergence issue.
