Re: corupt harddrive

Many time I have experienced the same problem. I went to Microsoft Windows, or whichever version you are using and ask for a boot up cd . They are ususally okay with it, It cost me about 20.00
I hope this helps out.

Re: corupt harddrive

I am sorry if I don't understand, "the disk to crash my p.c."? Do you mean that you don't have the disk to get p.c. fixed that crashed? Your p.c. crash and you can't get going? 1) What kind of p.c. do you have?[Dell,IBM,Compaq, etc.] 2)How much memory?[RAM that turns on the p.c.] When the memory chip goes bad,or in moving the pc, the chip can be phycically disconnected from mother board. Will provent pc from turn on. Win 98, win_me, Win_xp:: What o/s[operating system] do you have?

Hi Your harddrive has bad indexing unit so this problem arise. For that you need to fix error on harddrive. First open cpu cabinet reconnect RAM memory and both connection to harddrive and power cable and ide or sata cable. Then for fix error on harddrive boot computer with cd/dvd rom then enter in recovery console and type in prompt "chkdsk /r" without "" then press enter then it fix error on harddrive. Then again boot computer with windows disk then choose repair option then if still problem arise then you need to repartitioning the harddrive then format harddrive and install windows then it will work fine. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Why is it when i go to start my computer it doesnt wanna load windows, it says disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter. My computer was working fine right before. can someone please tell me...

Hi, the computer is not detecting the hard drive or the hard drive is corrupt. At startup you are likely to hear a knocking sound if the hard drive is physically damaged. You can go to bios setup at startup ( could be F1 or Esc). Once there it should indicate if there is a harddrive or not. If it indicates none there the harddrive might have crashed and will need repalcing. I hope this helps.

Hard drive is very hot and sounds stranges

Hard drives typically run pretty hot and have a cooling fan to make sure they don't overheat. The fan vent are easily clogged with dust that can build up to make the fan almost useless. Power off the computer and let it sit idle for about an hour and unplug power cord then open the case. Carefully brush away dust that has accumulated inside the case, making sure to clear the vents around the harddrive and the power supply. If the harddrive continues to make strange noises, I would strongly recommend making a full backup and get a new harddrive ready. When it comes to harddrive crashes it's not 'if' but 'when'. It will eventually crash, and true to 'Murphys' Law' it will crash when you most need it.

Local disk c is that a hard disk ?back up error

C:\ is a section of your harddrive. Do you have a diagnostics disk that came with your computer? If not some times there is a drive test built into the bios. If you are getting a drive error, please do your best to back up you important data immediately.

Cannot get logged on

You need to check two things first.
1. Check if there is any cd in the cd-drive slot
2. Check if there is a floppy in the floppy drive.

If both are empty, then operating system ie. windows might have crashed and need to be either repaired on reinstalled using the cd.
So you need to check if you have the original cds like the operating system and drivers for your computer.
