I have a question about a Carrier Air conditioner. It's an outside unit and it's old. When I turn the air on the air blows from the inside heater/air unit upstairs in the wall. Outside the air con ...

Could be just a blown fuse or circuit breaker. Fuses are generally located close to the unit in a small box on the side of the house. You will have to flip the box open to find the fuses. It may have a cartridge you have to pull out. Fuses are not visibly bad, you have to check them with an ohm meter or sometimes a hardware store can check them for you. Otherwise you will have to buy two and just replace them both.
The circuit breakers are usually in the house along with all the other breakers in a main panel. There will be two breakers and will probably be visibly tripped. Just flip them all the way back and forward to reset

Air conditioner comes on but is not cooling the house....new house, new unit

Try going outside and locate your outdoor unit. If the thermostat is on, and the fan is running inside, the outdoor unit should be on as well. If it isn't, locate the circuit breakers in your breaker box. There will be two. Trip them back and all the way forward.

If the unit is running outside, sometimes the air cond contractor forgets to come back and charge the unit with refrigerant. In this case be sure to contact the air cond contractor that installed the unit.

Where is the filter on my Goodman model capf3636c6ba ?

The main places that filters are located are:

Return Air Vent or Vents
Inside Coil Box
Underneath Furnace (Will have a small access door)
Filter Box Attached to Return Air System

A lot of people still look for their filters inside the coil box, but more recently installed units will have them in the return grills inside the house. Follow your return air from the vent inside the house back to the unit and it will be somewhere in between there. Hope this helps!

My air conditioner doen't start. I have a goodman air cond.

Check to make sure that the power is on to the outdoor unit and the furnce. Check breakers and fuses. There may also be a disconnect outside located by the condenser. It is probably a gray box, loft the cover and make sure the shitch is on. Otherwise if you turn the thermostat to cool, if the furnace blower comes on and the outdoor unit does not check the following. Turn off poer to outdoor condenser and open up the electrical compartment on the condensing unit outside. There is a round or oval cylinder inside. Its probably silver in color. That is the capacitor. If the top is bulged, its a true sign of a capacitor failure. Take the capacitor out and take it to your local HVAC Wholesaler of contractor. The part should cost you around 15 to 25 dollars. If this does not work, let me know.

Where is fuse located on goodman ckl60-1 ac unit?

I'd be surprised if you had a fuse in either the outside or inside unit. Typically the fuse(s) are mounted in a gray electrical box (on the house) near the outside unit.

You can usually - easily see the fuse box but if you don't just follow the electrical conduit from the outside unit - to the fuse box.

good luck!

Not coming on i have heard it might be the fuse its on model clk 49

You have a fuseable link outside by your air conditioner that feeds the unit. You need an electric meter to test the fuses. Before you do anything check the breaker inside of the house It should be marked if not it will be a double 60 to 70 amp breaker (depending on electric heat) see if it is not tripped by turning it off then back on. This may work if not the problem is at the fusible link box outside by the a/c unit. Good luck on your repair. Dave

Moved into a new house with a goodman air conditioner. it is also the heater (?). No experience with this. Is there something we need to do when switching from air conditioning to heating? we turned it to...

Well it might be a heatpump. Where it uses the A/C portion of the system to draw heat from out side and place it into you home. If its a new home I would call for a Check-Up its only $60 to $80. But dont buy anything you dont need like a new thermostat. Just tell them to check the refrigernt levels and to tell you if everything is runing ok.

Heat pump not running

check your house circuit breakers first that should be labeled heatpump or outdoor unit
make sure it is on and or not tripped
then if you have a box outside near the outdoor unit open it up and see if there is a breaker or maybe fuses that could be blown

Goodman air conditioner will not turn on outside

When ever you hear a buzzing like you are hearing means one thing one of the fuses on the outside disconnect box is bad. Only getting 1/2 the power. Find the bad fuse and get the same size and will be good to go. ken
