This is the eastest way to program your remote. To program a component using the Automatic Code Search method, perform the following steps: 1. Turn on the component you want the remote control to operate. 2. Press and release the component button that corresponds to the component you want the remote control to operate. info.gif The illuminated ON-OFF button turns on and remains on.
aud_remote_on-off.gif 3. Press and hold both the component and ON-OFF buttons. info.gif The illuminated ON-OFF button turns off. 4. After the illuminated ON-OFF button turns back on, release both buttons. info.gif The illuminated ON-OFF button remains on. If you press an invalid button during Auto Code Search, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks four times and turns off. The last programmed code under that component button is retained. 5. Press and release the PLAY button. aud_remote_play.gif 6. If, after five seconds, the component does not respond, continue to press the PLAY button every five seconds until the component turns off. info.gif Each time the PLAY button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks ten times while a block of 10 codes is sent to your component. This process continues until all of the codes in the Code Lists have been searched. If the component has not turned off after all codes have been searched, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks four times, turns off, and the Auto Code Search Entry method is exited. 7. When the component turns off, press and release the REVERSE button, then wait two seconds to see if the component turns on again. info.gif If the component does not respond, continue to press the REVERSE button every two seconds until the component turns on again. This will isolate the correct code in the last block of codes sent. Each time the REVERSE button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks. aud_remote_reverse.gif info.gif If the REVERSE button is accidentally pressed after the component responds, press and release the FORWARD button. Wait two seconds to see if the component turns off again. 8. To save the new code, when the illuminated ON-OFF button turns off, press and release the STOP button. aud_remote_stop.gif info.gif If some of the features of your component do not work, different codes in the list can be tried until you find the code that allows the remote to control the majority of your component’s

SOURCE: ive got a rca universal remote without a code search button how do i program it?

http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or yourbrand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, trythe following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when youreach the end of all the codes for this device type.

  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing thefollowing steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keysor press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock inyour new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat stepsthrough 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the newfeature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

I have no remote for an rca l32wd22 hdtv lcd tv and cannot find the inputs to change to HDMI?

Unfortunately, the L32WD22 doesn't have an Input button on the front panel of the TV. You need a remote control that matches the Input code for the remote. Here's one link to a remote that should work: http://remotes.com/store/rca/l32wd22.html . Other universal remotes may work if you find the correct code if the remote has an Input or Source button.

I hope this helps.

1997 RCA TV GUIDE PLUS MODEL NO. F36674ET.UNIVERSAL REMOTE NO INPUT BUTTON. HOW DO I GET TO VIDEO CHANNELS.

A lot of the older RCA sets if no input button had the inputs on a channel between 90 and 99. This set may also have a way to enter once you go into the customer menu.

Prgram old RCA removte

I also have an early RCA universal remote with the number 97P04730 stamped on the battery cover. I do know if that is the part number for the remote. There are buttons labelled TV and VCR, presumably to select which device the buttons will work for. This remote has a "search" button, but no "code search" button that is found on later RCA remotes. I have spend several hours searching the net for any information on this device. The only thing I found was a post that claimed this early remote is programmed by pressing and holding the device button (TV or VCR) and simultaneously entering the device code. Because this is a very old remote, it probably uses 3 digit codes. There are several places that list RCA 3 digit remote codes. I have tried to program mine this way, but I have not been successful. Possibly my remote is not working correctly, but it is putting out IR.

I have lost the orignal remote for my tv and have a universal remote. I get the tv/video button to work. is there some way to change it with out using the remote?

Unfortunately, the Input button (to change the source from INPUT 1, INPUT 2,
INPUT 3, INPUT 4, Front Input, HDMI/DVI, and last-active channel) is only on the remote. If your universal remote was built 6 months after the TV was released, try a different code for RCA/Thomson TVs (assuming the remote has an input or source key). Thomson built the TV.

If your universal remote doesn't have an input key, you probably need a higher end remote (one with that key or one that can be programmed from a computer). Alternatively, you can get an exact replacement remote here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=HD52W58&uuid=12927154203570 .

I hope this helps.

Can't select front input without remote

I had the same problem, had a universal DirecTV remote that was able to control the volume/mute, power and channels (both TV and DirecTV), but the input button didn't work. There was no av/tv button on the front of the tv, and the autoregistration of channels didn't pickup the gamecube on the AV channel. What solved it was simply to press "00". I couldn't believe it, but it was that simple. Hope this helps you like it helped me, since the tv was not going to be of much use since we were using the RCA inputs, not the coax. Didn't want to try to conver the RCA to coax either.

Input button

Read further into the manual. If I recall correctly, you have to program the input button seperately. If not, it possibly isn't supported (not uncommon at all, but annoying for sure).

using the menu button on the t.v. set an alarm for 1 min in the future. have the t.v change to channel 00 or the input channel @ that time. turn off the t.v and wait until the alarm turns the t.v on.
