I need to be able to use traditional mouse and keyboard ports on one computer and usb port on second computer can i convert the KVM-2 Corega swich to do this? This switch links my present two computers but...

When you say "traditional mouse and keyboard ports" i assume that you mean the green and purple PS/2 ports. If I am correct in my assumption then this is what you can do. You can buy PS/2 to USB converter for your mouse and keyboard. A simple google search should yield you plenty of shopping results. Just make sure that you buy PS/2 to USB converters, not USB to PS/2 converters or you'll probably get the wrong thing. Everything else should just be plug-n-play from there on out. Hope this helps.

KVM 8pro cannot recognize mouse/keyboard I am connecting 7 computers to the changer. I have the port #7 connected to an embedded controller (PXI-8106 from National Instruments). The PXI-8106 can be powered on normally and the desktop is shown. The cursor is always shown in the middle of the screen. When I try to move the cursor in any direction, it always moves up to the top of the screen and freezes there. PXI-8106 does not recognize the keyboard either. However, it seems that the PXI-8106 is turned on with no other problems, because a shared folder of the PXI-8106 can be seen from other computers. So the only problem is the mouse and keyboard detection. If I directly connect the mouse and keyboard to the PS2-USB adaptor on the PXI-8106, they can be detected normally. In addition, even if the PXI-8106 is connected using the KVM-8pro, if a USB mouse is also connected to USB port of the PXI-8106, the controller can successfully detect the mouse that is connected through the KVM changer. Even though I am using port #7, even when other ports are used, the behavior does not change. However, when I connect port #1, it works fine. This is because the port #1 is the default active port that KVM uses when it is first turned on. If I set the port #7 as the default active port first, the PXI-8106 can successfully detect the mouse and keyboard. Since it is extra work to set the default active port to the port #7, I would rather not to do this. Also, I am currently connecting a USB mouse to the controller so that it can successfully detect the mouse through the KVM changer for some reason. However, I would like to remove the USB mouse if possible and have the switch operate as normal. Can you help me resolve this issue? Ryan
