It does not have a drain plug. You can remove the dip stick and tilt the mower to pour out the oil, or you can use one of those hand pump syphon units to pump it out.

What Oil do I put in a Troy Bilt xp series mower

They recommend using only SAE 30 oil or 5W-30 if you choose to use synthetic. Be careful. Most smaller mower engines only require about 20-21 oz. The Honda engine may use more. See gauge on side of oil bottle.

Troy bilt mower 6.75 hp smoking too much oil

Check oil level, it could be just excess oil. Also check air filter, it may need cleaning/replacing. Depending on how old the nower is, it could be broken rings in the engine, in that case... time for a new mower. hope this helps!

Changing oil in a troy bilt squall 5521

To change oil in a lawn mower you will need to acquire a fluid evacuation pump. Remove the dipstick and with the pump evacuate the old oil into a suitable container. Check your owners manual to determine how much oil to put in DO NOT overfill or the mower will not work. Make sure the old oil gets recycled.

Clean air filter and replace spark plug. If it is wet when you pull it out let it sit and dry out before putting new one in.
