Deleted text messages are not retrievable from a phone with no service. The texts are actually housed on the service providers servers and therefore, when the service is disconnected, they are usually removed from the server. If you require them, say for some legal matter, you can request copies of the text messages from the service provider for a period of up to 6 months. I hope this helps.

If it has not been retrieved, retrieve it (make sure you have proper settings for the MMS to work). Highlight the message and click left softkey (options) and look for similar options to retrieve message from your network operator.
After you have retrieved it simply read like you are reading text messages.

you have to set the answering machine to accept remote access. Then anytime when you call home and the message is playing you can enter the machines' remote access number to retrieve your messages.
