Question about Bosch Dishwashers

Open Question

My SG145E12UK/14 'tries' to wash/work, but the 'check water' light comes on. However the water feed is running water with connecting block/pipe disconnected. Water also feeds into the machine, as it is in the machine when I open the door. The water pumps out when i raise the button on the machine 'floor'. Why is the light illuminating, and how can i cure it, please? What do i need to check? Jim Curry, Evesham

SOURCE: Gushing water - Hoover SPB11 washing machine

First plug off the wall. Before connecting the "hoses" (both hot and cold) to the machine inlets see that the inlet is clean. Connect the outlet hose to the standpipe, not too deep. The outlet hose has to be about 3 feet above ground level; there is a water level mark behind the machine. Both the inlets should be well screwed in, noting the threads of the inlets

You said the water was gushing.....into the machine? Fine .....what next.......post back.

Try to tilt your dishwasher forwards. Be aware that water will leak out of the front. Once this is clear it should work. I paid an engineer to come and tell me this. If your machine is not completely level it causes it to over fill and after a time will not work. Good Luck

SOURCE: Wash motor does not run: Inlet/Drain error

Wordhog: Does sound like a siezed wash pump to me. Wash motor needs to run to get the correct level of water.

To drain a Miele dishwasher, start the machine on a cycle. All the Miele range of dishwashers drain before filling. Then hold in the start button until the end/finish light is lit. Keep doing this until all the water has gone. You could just get a jug and bail it out. Once the jug does not do the job anymore, switch to a cup, I use a very large syringe for the remaining half a litre.

Washing machine willstart agitating while running water.

there is a sensor that is feed from the drum bottom pipe if this becomes blocked it does not tell the washer to stop feeding. it should feed 2-3 times but in between these feeds the drum spins, then stops and then feeds and stops. the switch is a pressure switch so the pressure turns on and off the switch the pipe can get blocked and stop the pressure switch working. it will need to be removed and clean out. you can clean this out from the top of the washer, take the top off and you will see a round space ship like thing that's the presure switch it has a pipe and wire attached to it , remove the pipe and blow down it, if it blows out fine replace the switch as it must've become faulty. they are easy to find and not dear to replace.

Hot water barely comes out,

If you switched the feed hoses over and the problem reversed itself, cold has gone from fast to slow useing the hot water pipe and hot from slow to fast useing the cold water pipe then this would indicate a fault in the water supply from the hot pipe. What sort of pressure is coming from the hot pipe when not connected to the machine but filling in to a bucket? Are there any shut off valves before the pipe that supplies the hot water? Are they fully turned on? Any kinks in the feed pipe for the hot water? Has the hot water feed pipe collapsed internally? Change the pipe to check this and not just at the machine side.

Washer does not have enough water, and when it spins it doesnt spin enough to get all the water out of the clothes.

a few things to try... the water fill pipe that feeds the machine, check the tap at the end to make sure its on full, if it is then turn water off and unscrew pipe from rear of machine and see if connection on machine is blocked or clogged. then usually located at front of machine at the bottom, unscrew the filter to see if its blocked with small change ( usual suspect ) and try.

What's wrong the water will not spin out of my machine

It sounds to me that the pump or pipe is blocked, first check the pipe for any blockage if that is clean remove pump, open it (useually 3 screws) and clean that, if it is clean then your impeller is worn and needs to be replaced. Make sure the pump is running by actually, when pump are open start the machine and check if pump is running, if not check if all electrical wires are connected, also make sure that the opening that feeds the pump in the drum is clean as well

Can the washing machine run on cold water feed only and if so is there a special connection or do we just connect the cold feed only

you can use a cold feed on washes below 50 degrees
if you need to connect a feed to the hot water inlet on the machine you can buy a y shaped connector to join both pipes together from the machine and then connect the one remaining connection to the water supply valve

R reg Audin A6, heater stopped working mid-trip, now warning light for low coolant level keeps coming on.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY HAVE AIR BLOCK, OR A STICKING THERMOSTAT,CHECK FIRST CHECK THE HIGHT OF THE HEATER MATRIX IN THE CAB , IF ITS HIGHER THAN THE FILLER/EXPANSION TANK. THEN COULD BE AN AIR LOCK, LOOK FOR THE HIGHEST PIPE AND SEE IF THERE IS A BLEED VALVE, IF NOT TAKE BOTH PIPES OFF THE MATRIX FEEDS (TWO PIPES GOING FROM ENGINE BAY TO INSIDE OF CAR, AND FLUSH OUT WITH HOSE TO SEE IF IT IS BLOCKED, AND RECONNECT LOWEST PIPE FIRST AND FILL SYSTYM TILL WATER APPEAR FROM TOP AND RECONNECT RUN MOTOR, AND KEEP TOPIN UP, IF YOU LOSE WATER AFTER THAT THEN COULD BE THERMOSTAT, OR MORE SERIOUS

Water pump problem

Is the exit pipe blocked? Have you made sure that the filter is not blocked? Can you hear the pump working or does it sound strange or silent?

If these are OK then you may have a genuine water pump problem then call a service engineer. If you are competent to do so and have the tools make sure the power is turned off and the inlet water feed is closed off, then remove the water pump yourself and check that it works and is clear of any obstructions. Also check that the feed pipe to the pump from the drum is not blocked.

Why is my warm water is cold? The hot is hot and cold is cold but warm is cold.

There is too much pressure on the cold feed, reduce the pressure on the cold by partly closing off the tap on the cold.
Or ensure the hot feed is fully open and not blocked, check if there are filters inline - remove the feed pipes at the washer end and look into the inlet valves - clear if blocked.
The inlet valve is common to hot and cold water with only a small pipe to fill the machine, the cold water is being forced back up the hot water pipe due to the pressure you can feel the pipe cool down after running hot then go to warm, if hot water is flowing the pipe will stay hot, if not then cold is going up the hot pipe.

Non-stop draining at whatever cycle selection

Is your drain pump constantly running? If it isn't, check the standpipe (drain pipe) and make sure you don't have your drain hose shoved down in the pipe too far or the top sealed off. The stand pipe needs an air gap to properly drain, or it can siphon water from the wash tub. Symptom: Washer continually tries to fill or slow fills, but water won't stay in wash tub. Double check your drain line to be sure. It could be a simple fix.
