First I would replace the drivers, and check the device manager for any conflict with the internal router and the wireless device. then run the add hardware App and let windows Plug and Play find the device. with thye drivers re-installed it should come back, If it dont the have the motherboard replaced.

you could download the drivers and reinstall them and if spyware doctor and win defender are registered you can always retrieve them.
after doing this I would consider installing norton antivirus or norton 360..I use norton 360 on all my machines.
