SOURCE: FTT-R tower fan would oscillate but the fan would not run.

You might have a stripped gear in the tower where it oscillates. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: my oscillating fan has stopped oscillating how can

This is my 3rd fan in the last two years I have bought. This time I thought by buying an expensive fan won't give any problems, but it is the same story.

Fan worked for couple of days, then it won't start again. I figured out from the noise it was making that it is due to friction. So I put some oil, then it started working, but it worked for a day only.

It is the regular fan, not the tower. Hope someone knows the answer for this.

I have receipts where I purchased (2) FZ-8D Tower Fans w/remote. The fans work for approx. 30 days. Then just STOP. I happily took a return/replacement fm my big lots local store. But now...the same...

Take them back to Big Lots, and I doubt they will give you your money back, but ask for a STORE CREDIT you can use in their store at a later date, then go somewhere else and buy another.

kindly,

Jim

I have a 42" wind

the first thing to check is that the remote control is working and the control panel of the fan itself are working probably and i think they did but you have to check first
this fan oscillating control button is not a mechanical connection like the regular fan so if you are not using it wrong(and i think you don`t ) an if all the buttons are working -except the oscillating function - (and i think they are ) turn that thing back and test it at the shop

Squeak in aloha breeze tower fan model 05538

If the model is equipped with a fan, and the noise occurs even when not oscillating it must be a fan/blower motor. If it is a squeak. A squeal could be an electical component going bad which is always bad. I would definitely take some bottom drawer tools , ie. screwdrivers and WD-40 and oil that squeaking motor. Being a fan it goes through alot of air pollutants. That tends to build up on the shaft and can work its way into the bearing seal. Good luck.
