Sounds like your needle is hitting the needle plate instead of going through the tiny hole down to the bobbin. Try using the handwheel slowly and watch. Or perhaps the needle is hitting the bobbin case. Something has been knocked off the straight I think. Has your machine been dropped or dmamaged?

SOURCE: bernina 2500DCET serger keeps breaking the centre

I have found with any serger I have used that you have to cut the looper (bottom) threads before re threading the needle threads. You then rethread the loopers.
If you don't do this, the needle threads keep breaking. Hope this helps.

Singer serger ultralock 14U34 is making a clunk sound. What might be wrong?

Possibly a bent needle. Needles should be changed every 8 hours of use.

My serger singer 14u-544 cuts the fabric but doesn't sew. Whar can I do? Thanks

Probably due to incorrect threading or else one of the needles are bent. I had the same problem and it was the threading and the tension.frustrating as all get out.

SERGER HAS BEEN RETHREADED AND HAS A NEW NEEDLE BUT WILL ONLY SERGE FOR ABOUT 1.5 " and THE THREAD BREAKS AND LOWER LOOPER COMES UNTHREADED.

Serger thread breaks

1. Is the serger threaded correctly?

2. Is the needles inserted correctly?

3. Is one of the needles bent or damaged?

4. Is the tension adjusted too tightly?

5. Is the tension adjusted to accommodate thickness of thread being used?

6. Are you using inferior quality thread?

7. Is the thread feeding off the cone/spool freely?

8. Is the needle size correct for the type of fabric being used?

9. Are the needles being used the correct one for the serger?

10. If all of the above suggestions don't help then the serger needs to be checked for a timing problem at a sewing machine repair shop.

Singer Overlocker/Sergers require particular threading order. If that does not help you may as I did have to take it to an Authorised repairer. It has to be a Singer Authorised as they have done training...

Sergers thread upper looper first, lower looper second, right needle third and left needle last in that order. If your thread breaks, CUT ALL THREADS and start from scratch or you will not get a good stitch or your machine may jam. It's probably just a "user error."
Good luck.
