Question about Sylvania SMPK8858 MP3 Player
My iPod did this after I didn't use it for a while.
My guess is that the battery is so low that there is not enough juice to fully turn it on when not plugged in.
Leave it charging for a couple hours and then see what it does. If it still doesn't turn on, your built in batteries might be dead... If it doesn't have a built in battery and you changed them out already, it could be a number of things.

this is actaully a feature called intro, go into the repeat menu and select normal, you get there by clicking mode while a song is playing. this should fix it. hope this helps

Firmware for the SMPK8854B can be downloaded, using next link;
How to download the driver:
Right click the link above and select Save target as... to save the zip file onto your computer.
After the download:
Unzip the zip file using Winzip, Winrar or the XP utility Open > Compressed Folders .
Look in the ConsumerUpdate 126.96.36.199 folder for the
setup.exe file to update or reinstall the firmware.
