You definitely have an air leak somewhere along the gasket. Check along the gasket for any place that is not sealed properly. It could be that you didn't quite get it in the right place as well. It might be off-centered along the edge of the door.
If you end up having to replace the gasket again with a brand new one, clean the area that the gasket will be applied, with alcohol before application.
