It's probably cause your battery might be old or you haven't used it in a long time

SOURCE: i brought an Eclipse CLD MP3 and when i charge it,

I bought a Eclipse CLD MP3 Player, the music does not sound the same as downloaded. You can only hear the background vocals, not the lead singer. How do you fix this or is the MP3 ****?

Charging on or off

They should have an ability to store up a charge while playing, but it would be at a slower rate, so if they were playing several hours they would have a significant charge built up, but not in only one hour of playing while connected.

They would charge faster when not in use.

Typically there is a "Battery condition" icon in one corner of the screen. If for some reason, it goes blank, & the device still plays, consider 7 hours of charge time sufficient for wee pocket size devices & Dig, Cameras.

I just bought the eclipse cld and it won't turn on after charging for hours

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Ok, I bought my Eclipse 4 g MP3 and I have been charging it via my laptop for 4 hours. I have flipped it "on" and then pushed the start button, and nothing happened....what am I doing wrong?

try turning it on, and then attaching it to your USB. With it turned off, the recharging might not be making the circuit.
The same thing happens if I try charging my own mp3, so I turn it on and attach to to the pc, and it charges up over a few hours.
Hope that helps.
Cheers from NZ

How do I charge it, does it have to be on or off?

It has to be off to charge and it charges when you plug it into the usb port of your computer. I usually takes about 4 hours for a full charge when completely drained.

It will not charge

I had the same problem try to leave it in to charge overnight. Before the 1st use you should charge it 12 hours. Also I you have a cell phone charge that fits this device too. It seems to charge faster with that. It could be that you need try using a diff. usb maybe the one that came with it is not working properly

Eclipse Hitec 7 will not stop biip when turned on, battery has been charged for 24 hours, it still say low bat on display

Depending on the are and number of charges, the battery is dead. A NiCad battery is only good for about 400 charges. After that, it starts to go downhill. A NiCad battery will also take a memory. If it has the capacity to run for an hour but you only use it for 15 minutes, it will taka on a shorter than 1 hour memory. In time, it will only give you 15 minutes of use, even with a full charge.
Try TOTALLY draining it a few times and then charge it overnight. Do this at least 4 times. This is called reguvenating. About half of the time, it will increase the life of the battery.
