Question about Washing Machines
I tried doing a wash load this AM. About 20 minutes into the Cold cycle, the machine started beeping with an 04 error message. When I pushed the pause/start button, the door would not open. I tried turning off machine, waiting a few minutes, and starting a new cycle. I repeated this several times. Same thing happened. Help!
You may have blockage-clean your drain trap-if this doesn't help you may have a plugged hose or something stuck in the pump-cheers Denny

Thanks! I found this online, which shows how to run tests on the washer to see what might be wrong, which helped, too. Now if i can just find a few muscly people to help me move the dryer from atop the washer.

According to the manual, you have to:
1. Turn program selector to "off"
2. Turn selector to Drain or Spin
3. Press the start / pause
Wait until program ends.
Press "start / pause" until the start / pause light flashes.

Welcome to fixya.com
I'm Huuum and happy to assist you,
Try this first and if it fails to remedy the problem then call service as you wanted!
Huuum At your service!
With an error code.
This can reset the system.
First unplug the washer and wait a 5 minutes then restart it.
If you can't reach the plug, use the breaker to cut the power for 5 minutes.
It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange!
Usually it corrects some error problems if they are not serious.
Or they are sometimes just a glitch.
let me know how it works out.
How old is the appliance?
Let me know how you progress!
Bless You, Huuum

SOURCE: error messages EFO and E10
It is simple. The wrong soap or too much soap will caused EFO to flash. I overfilled the machine with soap by accident. It started flashing with EFO and I went nuts. What could be wrong with it now?! Too much soap or not the right kind of soap will cause this problem.
Plus, I found a sheet of paper that gives the codes.
This is better than when the strainer plug gets filled up and you have to take the machine apart to clean the little strainer.
