SOURCE: I have a JVC L-A11 turntable. I cannot get the

I just had my L-A11 in to 'the needle doctor' (Jerry Raskin's shop in dinkytown, Minneapolis) We had the same problem with the platter.

After pulling (hard) to no effect on the platter - using the holes near the spindle and pushing simultaneously on the spindle. The tech next got out a small hammer, and while pulling on those same holes in the platter, he gave it a sharp 'whack' on the spindle with the hammer, and it came right off (the platter). I would have been too feint of heart to do it, but it worked great.

SOURCE: How do I change a drive belt on my JVC L-A11

Lift felt on platter and and lift the platter section off the unit by putting your thumb and forefinger through the two large holes and pull upwards. There should not be any special routing for the belt and should go directly onto the spindle motor to your platter. Place the belt around the inside rim of the platter while it is still off the unit. Now replace the platter and move the platter around until you see the spindle motor through one of the holes. Use some tweezers to manouvre the belt onto the spindle motor. On some units you will have to lay the belt out inside the unit, replace the platter and manouvre the belt onto the platter. Hope this helps

Jvc 725 camcorder

The belt would need to be ordered from JCV or a camera repair shop that has access to get one, also if you bring belt down to a TV repair shop they can size it using a belt gauge, and if luck is with you produce the proper type.

The speed on my JVC L-A11 is too fast when set to 33. If I toggle in between 33 and 45 it slows down enough so the pitch and speed sound right. How do I fix this so I can keep it set to 33 rather than...

HELLO

There a few things which can cause this problem. First the speed change switch may be faulty or contaminated by dirt/dust. If I were looking at this deck I would spray some Servisol switch cleaner into the switch (you may have to remove the base of the deck to do it).

There should also be two variable pots which are used to set each speed - spray those as well - it may be a "dead spot" on the pot itself. These are the most obvious causes but if the problem still persists check the belt. If that is OK, then you may have a fault in the speed control circuit.

ALL THE BEST WITH IT (:-)
