Dpxu5120 stuck in standby mode

Unplug it from the wall, ext. cord or whatever power source, wait for 20 minutes, plug back in and see what happens. Hopefully it will recycle and return to the proper screen. If that doesn't work, check out your remote - make sure batteries are in properly and fresh and that some physical object or electromagnetic field isn't interfering with the remote's ability to change modes, inputs, go into the menu, etc.

Stuck standby mode

Some kind of background information would help, beyond three scant words that describe the very barest bones of your problem, particularly as we can't guarantee on this site that people even post their questions in the correct category. It's not twitter, you're not being charged by the word. I'd love to help but I *literally* don't even know where to start here.

In fact, best I can suggest is
1/ remote control has fresh batteries?
2/ panel isn't in lock-out security mode (-requires- remote control to operate) is it?

I have a power shot S2 IS digital camera. I have

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

For your particular model camera, pay attention to the UPDATE intro to the article.

STUCK ON STANDBY

I took the ****** apart and found two spring-loaded black triangular plastic pieces poking out of two rectangular chips about 2mm square, just below the circular piece on the outside of the camera that changes mode – play, video, camera. Actually I found one of the above, because the second triangular piece was stuck in the closed position. A bit of jiggling and voila the problem was fixed.
That was the good news. The other news is that I must now reinsert inside of the shell a black circular piece of plastic that affixes to the rotating circular piece on the outside of the camera that changes the mode. When properly attached this circular piece manipulates the triangular pieces to change the mode.
I think that the likelihood of getting this piece properly aligned and affixed so that it moves the triangular pieces properly when the mode knob is rotated falls into the statistical probability range of pork taking wing. But worth a try.

Camera Wont turn On: Is it stuck in USB mode? How do i fix it?

I was able to get past this problem by removing and reinserting the battery. This caused, in effect, a hard reset of the camera, which let me power it up fresh and take pictures again. Of course, it's not exactly reassuring that the problem arose in the first place,
