You have to change the internal battery. The type of battery is a CR2430. This battery has only a three year life span in ideal conditions. If you have had power outages or left the Clock/ Radio unplugged for long periods of time the battery life shortens. You can find the battery is most electronic stores and in large drugstores and supermarkets. Fry's electronics, Radio shack. You must unplug the radio from the plug and let the microprocessor discharge and reset itself. This will take about a hour. After you let it discharge, you can put the new battery in the Clock/Radio and check to see if the problem is fixed. If this does not fix the problem, you have a damaged microprocessor and will have to buy a new clock/radio. Emerson does not provide out warranty service for this product. I hope this information help you with your problem.
What I have done in the past is to change to project to high power mode for some time and then change it back to low power mode after 20-30 mins. This fixes the flashing light issue, at least temporarily.
