Make sure all tires are chalked, put vehicle in neutral, turn drum till it has a clear spot to knock stud out,use hammer and wooden block, don't use metal punch, can cause burr on end of stud and not want to come out of hole. Both tires on back may need lifted in air to turn.

Beans do not feed anymore. I have to shake the grinder to get them to feed.

- it is happening from time to time at all brands, you need to:
  1. remove upper burr holder
  2. unscrew lower burr holder bolt
  3. go with bolt in some metal workshop and ask for one peace of drill above bolt to be attached
  4. explain the way of rotation of burrs to metal workshop master so he wont mistake to do the drill in opposite way
  5. come with drill attached bolt at home , clean good the grinder, assemble the drill attached bolt.
  6. assemble upper holder and the plastic bean container (inspect does the drill touch the tongue for closing the beans at bean container)

We have a new Classic. At first it was working quite well. We were in love. Then it started spitting at us in disconcerting fashion. We've played with the grind (burr grinder on fine, then finer, then...

you may have 2 problems that can cause this:
1 simply the filter in filter-holder is broken and it goes through without control(in this case we have girnded coffee too in cup)
2 lower burr plate in grinder is not leveled perfectly and you cant set to fine grinding even you hear metal to metal sound of burrs.

BURRS are the metal parts that grinds the coffee. There are 2 BURRS in the grinders, The upper burr is normally the one you adjust (Fine or coarse) and the lower or closer to the motor is the one turning during the grinding process.

I took the grinder apart and realized that there is no mark as to where set the initial burr setting. It does not seem to be that you screw it down as far as it will go. the adjuster spring simply gets...

simply you screw until you hear metal sound of burrs touching each other. Than:

Grinding setting is one simple operation but requires bit patience:

  1. Turn on your grinder and continue setting to fine while burrs are spinning, you stop when you hear metal to metal touch sound(burrs maximally closed finest grinding)
  2. From that point go back quarter of revolution and mark the spot where you stopped with marker to body of grinder and setting plate with one line
  3. Grind little amount of coffee only to fill one sector of dosser than test it at your machine (if it leaks too fast and with yellow color of cream you should go to more fine>><< if it does not leak from the filter holder or it leaks very slow you go to in opposite way.
  4. You test grinding few times bit after each reset of plate grind little amount and take that in one other pot (that will provide to have pure new granulation)
After setting measure the grounded coffee that comes out from dosser it should be about 7 grams, better measurement you can get if you measure 10 doses in one place because you don't get never same amount from 6 sectors of dosser

Some sort of felt type insulation has come off the inside back of the dryer. I have had the dryer not quite 3 years. Is there some sort of warranty or solution to this. It is tearing clothes.

You need to check your owners manual about the warranty, most likely it just carried 1 year warranty. The felt is what the drum glides on, and if it ripped, the tub will have a gap for cloths to get snagged and rip. The felt glide will need replaced, but, you need to check the edges of the tub for sharp or metal burrs, or it will just rip the new felt. good luck, Shane

I have w460 & i keep getting small holes in tee shirt type materials help!

most likley you have a rough surface in the drum, you may have had a underwire from a bra poking through one of the holes in the drum which has now distorted the hole allowing a sharp edge to protrude inward and damage the clothes. empty the machine use a torch if needed and rotare the drum looking at the surface for inperfections (dipmles in the reflection of the surface) once found use something wood or plastic to push the burr outward) away from the clothes I used to use a soft screw driver handle to move the burr away. if its not this then check the door gasket these can wear away and start to tear clothes but this usually looks more like a burn than a small hole.

Belt breakage

as well as the obvious pulleys on the belt, most dryer drums are suspended on felt or nylon glides. and a pair of load bearing wheels, separate from those supporting and tensioning the belt.
If the drum support wheels (which are a cruddy bronze bush bearing and do fail) are stuck, or the felts or nylon glides have worn allowing metal to touch metal, the extra load will break the belt.
It could have been the cause of the first belt failing too.
Open the case agan (sorry) and examine the underside of the drum for stuck support rollers, and the drum itself for felts or nylon glides. If one is worn replace them all (they come in sets anyway).
The local parts guy will likely have the parts, as there are very few, common to many dryers
Sorry this is a generic answer, but there is no model given so cant tell you whether you are looking for just rollers, just felts, just glides, or any combination of the three.
