Question about Proform Exercise & Fitness

1 Answer

My treadmill has just stopped working. The console lights up but when I hit START the belt may only move an inch or not at all. I've taken the hood off and looked at the reed switch but I'm not sure if I'm looking at the magnet or not. This is a ProForm 995 model PFTL99911.0. What I believe to be the magnet is light colored and recessed into the pulley itself. Is this right? If that's not a magnet then I suspect the magnet has fallen off but when I turn the pulley I can't see any other spot where a magnet has been or where it would go. I tried adjusting the reed switch very close to the spot I think is the magnet but I had the same results. Thanks.

I checked the reed switch for continuity today and found that it was okay. So I pulled the circuit board and found that the resistor at R37 was burned and half of it was missing. Does anyone know where I can find out the value of R37 so I can resolder a new one on the board? The model number of the speed controller is MC2100LTS-30

Normailly the value of resistor is printed in c.board indicating value example 1k ( 1000 kilohmios) or 1.5 etc. You can measure the resistance with the Multimeter or DVOM, and replace and resolder on the board. However if the value NOT appear the only way if you have some schematic diagram. You need to cantact for factory supplier for diagram schematic. By that way you need to know was the reason why the resistor was burn? Normally is to due to some short circuit in some another component like resistro, capacitor or IC. God bless you

SOURCE: Proform 730i powers on but will not move when I input speed.

I have the same treadmill with the same problem statement. Here is how I fixed it:....Open the lower shroud that covers the motor. You must remove 4 or 5 screws. Taped to the inside of the shroud should be a document with a calibration procedure on one side and electrical specifications on the other. It will tell you how to run the calibrations. You need to hold the stop button and the + speed button as you insert the safety key. This will put you into calibration mode. My treadmill started working again after I ran the incline calibration routine. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Treadmill Incline Works, belt does not move

Check the drive belt. It may be loose or broken. If the belt is loose, then to tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down.

If the console only reads zeros or the controls do not function properly, try adjusting the reed switch. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to remove the motor hood and adjust the reed switch. Unplug the power cord, remove the motor hood and locate the reed switch, which is on the left side of the belt pulley. Rotate the pulley until a small magnet comes into view next to the reed switch. Loosen, but do not remove, the screw on the switch and move the switch with your hand until the gap between the switch and the magnet is 1/8 inch. Tighten the screw and replace the motor hood. NordicTrack T5.3 belt stopped working. It's only 1 month old. Console lights up. Incline works. But belt isn't moving

HI, its seems like the belt on the motor has either slipped off, or you just need to tighten it. best way to find out is to take off the front pannel showing the motor. then stand on the treadmill. start it and you will see the problem.
