Look at your new knob-do you have a new one-old knob should pull off with a fair amount of pressure-then just push new knob on-look for a flat spot in new knob and be sure to line that up with the shaft on machine-cheers Denny

SOURCE: The timer knob spins freely and I can't start the machine or set the timer.

"Can I replace it with a new knob or do I have to buy a new timer?"

It sounds like the knob is rounded out where it fits on the timer post, or It may just be loose. Pull the knob off and inspect it. If damaged, yes, you can buy another one.

SOURCE: Removing the Push-to-turn-on knob

if you pull on the knob it will come off it has a metal clip that is pretty snug on the stem but it will come off, you still have to take the cack cover plate off to get to the switch and do the actual replacement

GE Advantium microwave large round turn to set/push to set or start knob will not work when pushed. Can just the knob and a contact be replaced or do I need a whole new panel? Also, it is 12 years old

To replace parts in a twelve year old machine will probably cost almost as much as a new one ubnles you can get the parts cheap and do it yourself. I myself would not attempt to do it. We just bought a good size one for one hundred dollars and they told us that the new ones will not last as long as the old one. It was 18 years old.

Once dishwasher starts wash cyle, it keeps running wash cyle indefinitely. what do i need to do

Possible that the diswasher control panel is not in order and is a suspect. remove power for some to reset the board. Try with different program and if the same action continues check with the panel board before you can think of swapping to confirm the case.

Machine wont fill with water.i have checked pipes and they are okay.if you turn program knob to the spin cycle it will try to enpty.also you can still open the door

Hi there....looking at the programe selector knob....you should see at three positions on the panel a black dot.....ok.......(1) close the door of the machine and switch on the power....(2) turn the programe knob to any one of the dot positions....(2) push the start button....a red indicator lamp should flash 3times and then remain steady indicating the program has been cancelled....(3) Now select a new wash program and push the start button....machine should operate ok....If not check the drain pump to ensure it is not blocked...or wiring loose ...or burned out....if this is ok...then your most likley looking at a module failure...
