I would like to extend my apologies on behalf of all the staff here when I say that due to the code of ethics we all adhere to we are not able to provide a direct solution to your problem.

There are many ways to go about resolving this issue; however, these solutions generally fall into a category "black hat hacking."

A local computer shop may assist you in, at least backing up your data, so that you can completely wipe the system and re-install the operating system.

Depending on their ethics they may provide the direct solution of resetting this password for you. We however can not, which I hope I have previously clarified reasons why.

It is important to note that your data is not lost. Any information that you have is obtainable, but you would have to recover it outside of Windows.

If your information is not stored in your user profile, that is to say you are saving information outside of the pre-configured "My Documents" folder, then your data can be recovered ethically.

I understand that this may be incredibly frustrating to hear, assuming that you truly are the legitimate owner of this data, and again I apologize.

I can however, ethically and in good will, state that you can always find books and resources regarding the topic of Windows Security and work from their, with your own morals at question.

In final, I would like to insure you, and all viewers, that I am making no judgments or assumption the rightful owner of the information you may or may not be trying to obtain, as you may simply wish to continue using your computer.

At FixYa we appreciate everyone that helps make this community stronger with questions, suggestions, comments, and concerns.

Thank you for stopping by, we hope you return, and we hope that this information has been in some way helpful, or has at least relieved some stress and worry from the situation. Best of luck.

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :-

My Dell C840 Latitude has a 1.8Ghz processer but when I checked system it says it's only running 789 Mhz. Is my processer going bad?

Go Into Control Panel, select Power Options, and change Power Scheme from Laptop/Laptop to Home/Office Desk. Make sure you have AC Adapter plugged in and your should now be using all of CPU. Check System icon from Control Panel to confirm. CPU usage may show as less when laptop is booted from battery power only.

Admin password dell c840 latitude

Just a reminder first that although it's perfectly legal to reset your password on equipment you own, you can go to jail under dyber laws in most countries if you use this info to crack someone elses computer/account.

That warning aside there are several ways to accomplish the reset. one of my personal favs is TRK.

This link will provide you with all the necessary info and a download link for the image you will need to burn to CD in order to boot TRK.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Most probably your OS is vista. There is no way of getting back your Administrative password. Best way would be to repair your OS using the Original OS CD/DVD and take the repair option. Now again you will be asked to enter a password for the administrator, give it if required but also note it down carefully.......sodeep
