TV does not power on. You can see the light blink at the sensor and hear the click but tv doesn't come on. I had a tech come in and and he confirmed it to be the power supply. Trying to find part online to...

Depends on what exactly the fault is.

The trouble with power supply faults is that when one component fails, it quite often takes several others with it. The power supply components are subject to considerable electrical stress, and over time become less able to cope with surges caused by things such as being switched on and off. Eventually a component fails, which stresses other components which can also fail - sometimes simultaneously but also very shortly after a repair has been effected. This is know in the trade as a "bounce", i.e. the set is repaired, the owner takes it home, it fails again and "bounces" back to the repair shop.

In all proabablity, it is not feasible for you to repair this type of fault. A repair shop will have the following at its disposal that you dont:
1. Experienced personel who've "seen it, done it before" many times and may know instinctively what to change.
2. Trade publications that list thousands of known faults by make/model, what the cause is and which components to change. Quite often, a known fault repair will change a large number of components just to avoid "bounces".
3. Loads of specialised test equipment to help diagnose faulty components.

My TV is making cracking noise

Its the plastic cassing making the noise. If you press the tv together along the edges you will here a crack. Samsung and others did not use 99 cent padding between the plastic and the metal you need cushion padding. Its like not using a gasket or seal. Its a simple fix but the tv companies say its expansion.

TV does not switch on.

From the symptoms you describe, it seems the high voltage flyback autotransformer has failed along with the horizontal amplifier (they are slaved to each other). It could even be a blown fuse..
Well, the only way to solve this is to get a technician take a look at the set, I'm afraid. Repairs could cost upto $100 or more, depending upon the number of components that need to be replaced,

Hope that helps!

20" Trinitron Wega

Good day.
First, Have your tv 's circuitry be resoldered. this might be a case of loose contacts particularly along the crt circuitry. the longer you operate the unit at this condition, the faster you are counting the possibility of shortening the lifespan of your tube. 9 years is quite a young age for a unit which has an average of 18years.

response is highly appreciated.

Telefunken TV, Model TTV-215(C)

Hi all you Telefunken TTV-215 owners. My tv did this to. Panasonic in Bloemfontein helped me by phoning Telefunken and getting back to me within 10 minutes. All you have to do is turn your tv on and then press and hold the F button on the remote and while doing this press and hold the MUTE button also. If this doesn't work try olding down the display button on your remote for +- 5 seconds. If still no results try phoning your nearest Panasonic dealer.

Dark picture

How old is the TV? More than 6-7 yrs? Then it's time to do a trade in. But if you are very attached to it, get a Technician to recondition the Picture Tube. This may give it life for another couple of years. You could also ask a technician to check the DC filter Capacitor for the HT line to the Video Drive circuits. Over time this capacitor dries out and also causes a darkening of the picture. It is normaslly a 100 mfd 160V capacitor.

Goodmans 1430R TV (bought 10 years ago) switched off in middle of program by itself and no longer works.

Oh come on man the sets tired!!!LOL no really you got plenty of use out of this bugger. Your problem sounds like something opened in the power supply and since the sets all solid state theres no user serviceable parts inside them. If you really wanted to put cash into a 10 year old set for an estimate/? i would not . But if you like the set go for it. Good luck

Sharp 28JW73H

Lynda, could be why someone was selling it? It could have a bad connection inside the set somewhere that needs to be addressed asap as it will get worse, or a power regulator is bad. This will oneday make the set not turn on anymore without a repair job. Also make sure the outlet your pluging it into isent loose. Sorry i couldnt assist you more with this. Good Luck
