Few months ago they disabled the AC and now serp belt shredded again! now they say replace compressor and hook up AC- what??? and $2000

How did they disable the ac if they didn't bypass the pully that is why the belt shredded. The compressor is probably locked up thefore unless the pully is bypassed the belts will continue to shred

I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla. About a month ago the alternator went out and I had it replaced. Now there is a rattle coming from the area of the serpentine belt. I replaced belt but the rattle is still...

Have pullies checked out. sounds like one of them may need to be tightend. more than likely it is the tension pully and maybe it needs replaced if the bearing are going out in it. hope this helps and good luck.

How to replace an alternator on mazda 626 1999

OK, This worked well for me. Easier than some solutions I read on the internet.
This method does not require getting under the car.
1. Loosen the 17mm bolt on the belt tensioner pulley.
2. Turn the tension screw (10mm) conuter clockwise to losen the belt.
3. Remove the Serpentine belt.
4. Drain and remove the radiator. Catch the coolant, filter and reuse.
5. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery.
6. Remove the battery cable from the alternator and uclip the control connector.
7. Remove the top alternator support bolt.
8. Losen the bottom alternator support bolt. It will not come out. The support
bracket is a slot, not hole. The alternator bolt and all will slide out of the slot
directly toward the front of the car.
9. Lift the alternator out between the engine and AC condensor.
10. Reverse the procedure to install the new alternator.

Good Luck

2001 dodge stratus R/T- serpatine belt fell off- why-

correct sounds like the balance pully fell apart, common problem.the outter ring with grooves to hold belt is held together by rubber, wears out and falls apart, must replace that crank pulley, remove center bolt use a puller to remove pully, then install new one and belt.( must be a puller for newer dodges 1999 and up to work.hope this is helpful.

Belt (not ac) is squeaky

The squeeking is most likely coming from your belt's idler pully. They cost around 10 bucks and are attached with one bolt. Kinda hard to get to, so be patient.

Did you replace the ideler arm? see if you can wiggle any of the pullys if they move or have end play you will have to fix the pully to get the belt to saty on. be sure belt is on straight.

Belts making noise

Simply check is to replace the serpentine belt tensioner. Looks like this:
Another reason you might have alternator going to die. Try to rotate the alternator rotor without belt on it. If you need to use force no free rotation, replace the alternator.
Please kindly let me know if you need more info
