A Singer ID QA 062737 or OA, Elec/crank. Made in Brazil. Decals a RAF an bird in full flight Is this a rare machine. Liz

Hello, Liz -

I cannot answer your question regarding the rarity of your Singer sewing machine.

I did find information here regarding manufacturing of Singer sewing machines in Brazil:
The Singer factory in Campinas, Brazil started production in 1955.

In the middle of 1950 Singer purchased 300 acres of land in Viracopos Campinas. On 14 May 1955 the new Singer factory was formerly opened by the then President of Brazil.

Early machines produced at the Campinas factory were identified by serial numbers that took the form of RA, RB, RC etc. followed by 6 digits starting at 000001 up to 999999.
(End quote)

I also found manufacture date information for Singer sewing machines with QA numbering. See:
Machines with QA to QZ identification began to be manufactured in 1963.

For more information, I suggest you contact the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and ask to have your phone call transferred to the company archives. This is the link to the Singer Contact Us web page:
Scroll down the page to find the phone number and the days and hours a Customer Service Representative will be available via phone.

The company archives should hold records which should identify if your model of sewing machine was manufactured in great quantities or not.

Note: At one time in my career I worked as a archivist and historian for a business.

Best wishes.

I purchased a Delta Planer 22-560 and you literally have to force the stock on one end and pull on the other to get it thru. What's wrong?

Not all portable thicknessers have a power feed and the stock does have to be forced through.

Planers with a power feed can be choosy about whether they work or not, depending on the size of cut the planer is set for - too big a cut and they don't work, too small a cut and they don't work. This is especially true of those entering middle-age. Considering most of the parts for your machine are obsolete and no longer stocked, I guess that is where your machine is now...

You need to examine your machine to check it it has a power feed and if it does, you need to dismantle it and check all the parts and the drive are fit for the purpose.

With all due respect, there is no information here. In order to help you, we need to know:

  • What kind of 'machine' you are asking about (desktop computer, laptop, tablet, etc.)
  • Who manufactured the device (Apple, HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc.)
  • What model is it (look on the manufacturer's identification plate on the bottom or back of the device or, in the case of laptops, sometimes in the battery bay)
  • What its serial number is (or its Dell Service Tag, if it's a Dell)
  • What operating system (Windows XP, Windows 7, Mac OSX, etc.
Glad to help; just need enough information to go on.

Good Luck to You!

I have a Singer that was passed down from a grandmother. The only identification I have located is this number embedded in the wood cabinet: AD83648. Can that number be used to determine the age of the...

Yes, the Singer UK site has a history of the Singer sewing machines with a list of the year of manufacture. For a serial number that starts with 2 letters, see: . The AD83648 was built in 1935 n Elizabeth, NJ.

I hope this helps.

Are the memory cards for this machine still available? I purchased this model second hand and memory card 102 is missing and i would like to purchase it. I live in NZ

you will find ebay the best place to find card accessories for this machine. i have found heaps of cards for the 9000, including the 102. look for numbers with 3 digits for the 9000, 2 digits are for the older 8000, though they will work for the 9000 they are smaller and simpler designs.
ENHMC is another card label that works in our machines, made by amazing designs as after market cards. There are scanners and things second hand but they are a bit difficult. i find i get heaps of designs that you just pop in the machine.

Just picked up the vacuum - any idea the dates of production on a G4 Anniversary Edition?

The 10 digit serial number on ALL G series Kirbys (G3, G4, G5, G6, Ultimate G, Diamond Edition and Sentria) is engraved into the aluminum on the side of the Kirby, right above where the cloth bag attaches to the machine. This serial number contains the EXACT manufacture date of the machine.
The first number in the serial number will be a 1, 2, 3 or 4 and pertains to the quarter of the year in which the machine was manufactured. The second and third number is the year of manufacture.
FOR EXAMPLE.... in the serial number 1071104984, the machine was manufactured in the first quarter of the year 2007.
The G4 models were manufactured from 1993-96.
My G4 80th Anniversary edition doesn't seem to fit this, however. It's 8941106700. I suspect it's got a replacement handle.

What year was the maytag atlantis washer made? modelmav8600aww

The date code is not indicated in the machine's model number but in the serial number. Look for the serial number plate and the last two letters of the serial number indicates the date code. The serial number is composed of 6 or 8 digit number followed by two letters (example: 12345678ZY). The first letter indicates the year in which the product was produced while the second letter is the month. Refer to the table below to determine the year and month in which the machine as produced.

In the example above, the date code is ZY. The date in which the machine was manufactured is November 1977/2001.

I bought a second hand (dewalt-DW677XE) planer and need to get a users manual to be able to use it properly.

I didn't really fix the problem as such because when I check the product number, it wasn't compatible with any of their products. My product number is DW677E-Planer.

I will just have to ask my tradesman to look at it and see if he can figure out how to use it properly without the users manual.

Thank you.
