Question about Magnum S9 Base CB Radio
Hi,i recently bought a magnum s9 and had new rf outputs fitted(as the old ones had blown!)the radio works fine now exept that when i use my variable power to turn down the rf power it only makes 5 watts difference!!(45watts on high/40watts on low)has the variable power been turned up inside?and how to i put it back to standard(i.e 5 watts on low power?any help would be great, thanks dean
Sounds like you need a local electronics engineers help , altering the design of an instrument can cause problems and be costly .
Normally an in line filter can be purchased that will affect your output somewhat but it depends on what amount you want to reduce it by remember , if you alter the swf too much then you will overdrive you outputs again and they will probably burn out .
It sounds like at 45watts this system is too powerful for the area you are in I am thinking it is causing interference thats why you want it reduced , again my suggestion is a good TV I filter or change the unit for a less powerful one . One final suggestion is that you have the output 's reduced to a more susatinable rate by the engineer who repaired the set for you ... hope this is of help Regards Vortash
