So, it appears this drive is a real phantom to your Mac.
If you notice, the internal harddisk of this device will spin up, then you should verify if this drive also is invisible at another computer.
If it does, then something might be wrong with the drive, otherwise it might be related to a driverproblem under Mac OS.

A driver is a type of program which tells your computer how to communicate to hardware-devices. Each device requires it's own communication-protocol. If this is not done well, it's like ,.. erm,. see it as you're on a holiday abroad. You try to speak French to an German cab-driver. It might be hilarious, but you don't understand each other and you won't get to the place you want to go to..

My LaCie Porsche doesn't show anymore.

You got a virus somewhere that knock it out. Sad to say, you will have to get rid of it and I only know of one way. Formatting the entire drive so you can use it again. If you are on a Mac, you may have picked this up from Microsoft who does this to drives they feel are clones.

Try updating skype on both machines and make sure there is enough band width to work. If you use a Mac, why not use Facetime.

My mac book and epson projector doesn't show the signal

To my knowledge there are no video drivers to output video on a Mac USB port in the Mac OS system. There are however, devices that connect to the USB port that will give video out on Conventional (VGA, DVI, HDMI, etc) connectors.e.g. http://www.newertech.com/products/viddu2dvia.phpMost projectors connect via VGA - what Projector are you using?

My power mac G4 is not opening safemode as well as it is not boot from CD

Two possible things are wrong either your hard drive has gone or your system has corrupted. Put your instal or system disk in start it up holding down the c key. Once it has started check that the hard drive exists by go to the menu bar and selecting the disk utility. If the hard drive shows it means that it is okay run the disk utility check drive and then run the repair permissions. Then try restarting, if it works then you are back up and running again. If the drive shows up and you restart and the same thing shows up with the grey screen, you will need to reinstal your system. You do this by starting up with the instal disk holding down the c key and run the instal script. To keep your hard drive contents your will MUST use the preserve users instal.

If your hard drive does not show up the hard drive is probably a gonner and you will have to purchase a new hard drive and instal a fresh system.

Hope this helps

I have a firelight smart disk 40GB Model FWFL-40-N. I have an I have a Mac Mini. Both are about 5 years old. When I plug the device in it doesn't show up on my desk top. Thanks for any help/advice

The Mac searches for peripheral devices on startup.
Try plugging in the drive and turning it on and THEN starting the Mac.
If the Mac does not acknowledge or see the device, then
check your cable that connects the device. Use a known good cable
to connect it. Then repeat the above procedure.

Doesn´t work on mac

The logitech Download Centre doesn't provide any Mac Drivers for your device.

The best thing to do is either wait for the drivers to come out or buy another product supported by Mac

cheers
