It's the online media store and media player software offered by Apple and aimed specifically at their i-products owners. You can download and install the software and then go shopping for music, movies, books etc.

Two Ways to Solve the Crashing Problem of iTunes 12

Since iTunes 12 was released to public with OS X Yosemite, users never stop complaining about bugs when updating their iTunes to the latest one. Some said iTunes 12 froze their computer, some were shocked by that iTunes 12 even removed their album art, some others told how iTunes 12 crashed everytime they opened it and numerous other problems flooded. These problems happening on different computers are so diverse that working out solutions to solve all of them is hardly possible. But temporary methods to solve crashing problem of iTunes 12 can still be found. Users can stay away from crashing problem of iTunes 12 in two ways in the following.
UPDATE: Apple released iTunes 12.2 to add Apple music support. You can feel free to upgrade to the latest iTunes 12.2 if you met problem on running iTunes 12.

The First Way: Go back to an old version of iTunes

This way is a relatively effective way to make you stand outside the problems of iTunes 12. You can revert back to the version that has ever worked on your computer and update to the newest when Apple fixes the existing bugs. Let us see first how to download and install old version of iTunes on your computer.
1. Download old versions of iTunes
1) From oldapps.com you can download iTunes 4.1 to iTunes 11.4 for installation on your computer.
write_tip-f5rgrqsrctf2qs4545igasyf-5-0.png
2) To install Version 12.0.1 of iTunes, you can download it from the following links:
> > Download and install iTunes 12.0.1(32 bits) Here < < > > Download and install iTunes 12.0.1(64 bits) Here < <
2. Double-click the downloaded installing file of iTunes and start the installing process.
3. Following the installing guide where you will be asked to accept the user license agreement and choose the folder to store iTunes until it is finished.
4. Go to find and open iTunes in the above folder to launch to have a try.

The Second Way: Backup your iTunes Library

If you want to stick to iTunes 12 even though it crashes frequently, backup your iTunes library elsewhere like hard drive, external hard disk and Google Drive will protect you from great loss and redownloading. After backuping, your iTunes library can also be played with other media players like VLC, Windows Media Player and other non-Apple media players and devices. Let us then see how to backup your iTunes Library.
Step 1: Download and install M4VGear Backup Tool for iTunes library. Mac and Windows version are both available.
For Windows:http://www.m4vgear.com/m4vgear.exe
For Mac:http://www.m4vgear.com/m4vgear.dmg
Introduction of M4VGear: M4VGear Backup Tool for iTunes Library for Windows is the best and fastest Backup Tool for iTunes library. It can remove DRM from both iTunes purchased and rented videos at a 20X faster speed and convert them to unprotected MP4, AVI, MOV and etc videos so that you can backup them to hard drive, Google Drive or play them with non-Apple media players and devices. (Using Mac OS? Here is M4VGear iTunes Library backup tool for Mac.)
In the DRM Removing process, all subtitles and audio tracks including 5.1 audio track will be preserved. Besides, original quality will stay inside the output MP4 videos.
Step 2: Import the iTunes videos you want to backup from iTunes library to M4VGear by clicking the "Add Movies" button on the main interface. You are allowed to select videos as many as you like for backuping.
write_tip-f5rgrqsrctf2qs4545igasyf-5-1.png
Step 3: Click "Convert" button on Windows or on Mac to start converting iTunes videos to MP4 format for backuping. During the process, controlling iTunes is not allowed in case some errors may happen.
Note: You can also choose other video formats as output from the output profile list.
write_tip-f5rgrqsrctf2qs4545igasyf-5-3.png
Step 4: Go to the output folder located in the bottom left of M4VGear and find output MP4 videos. Then either transfer them to hard drive or Google Drive for backuping or play them with non-Apple media player or devices when iTunes 12 crashes.
>>To use M4VGear without conversion time limitation, please go to M4VGear store to buy a license.
Conclusion: If you are meeting problem on using iTunes 12, you can easily fix it by taking the two methods above, either with installing old iTunes version, or using M4VGear to backup the iTunes library.

  4. Click OK and see if the issue is resolved.
Adjust Parental Controls in iTunes:

Invalid response from itunes

Apple is not supporting the earlier models of iPhone with the later versions of iTunes.

iTunes provided this error message "iTunes could not connect to the iPod touch because an invalid response was received from the device." using my Generation 1 iPhone (2007) and iTunes version 12.6.0.100

There are two solutions for this, either find an Apple computer running an earlier version of iTunes, or find a PC version of iTunes that is earlier than version 12.

I found iTunes Version 8.0.2.20 for the PC (64bit) and that worked fine on my Win8.1 PC.

Caution - If you try to reload iPhone firmware holding down the power plus home button, and keeping the home button pressed, but you dont have a working iTunes - you risk "bricking" the iPhone until you can reload the firmware with an older version of iTunes.

The FileHorse website provides many older versions of iTunes for the PC.

How to Remove DRM From iTunes rental or purchased videos on Mac OS X

As we all know, iTunes videos are all DRM protected by Apple's Fairplay, which prevent us reusing the content freely, like sharing the iTunes videos on network, editing the iTunes videos with FCP or iMovie, converting iTunes videos to other common formats and watching iTunes videos on many Non-apple devices and so on.

There are so many limitations on the iTunes rented or purchased videos. Why not find a DRM removal software to crack the iTunes DRM and then watch the iTunes videos free?

Here I want to share my experiences for using a DRM Media Converter and removing the drm from all my iTunes videos on my Mac.

Step 1. Download and Install the recommended DRM media converter tool.
iTunes DRM Media Converter for Mac

This DRM Media Converter for Mac tool requires you to install the lastest iTunes and Mac OS 10.8 or later.

Step 2. Add iTunes DRM videos
Click Add button, then you can add the iTunes drm videos from iTunes library directly.

Step 3. Click Start to start removing iTunes DRM
Click Start button, then the DRM media converter for Mac will start to work. It will soon convert the iTunes drm m4v videos to unprotected MP4 format.
MP4 format is the most popular video format currently. It's compatible with almost all mobile devices and can be uploaded to any video sharing websites.

ITunes 9 and the "iTunes Media" folder

Before iTunes 9, there used to be a "iTunes Music" folder that contained all of your music, apps & videos. With the newest version of iTunes, this folder has been changed to "iTunes Media" on new installations. This new folder structure makes much more sense than before, because iTunes is definitely much more than just music now.

However, if you already had iTunes installed before and simply upgraded to the latest version, iTunes will not automatically change the folder structure for you (I guess as to not move an existing user's files around without telling them). You'd have to take a few steps to keep yourself updated.

First, open iTunes, then go to "File > Library > Organize Library". You will be prompted if you want to change to the new iTunes folder structure. However, this will not change your top level folder, "iTunes Music". To do that, leave iTunes running, and simply go to your iTunes Music folder and rename it iTunes Media.

Most of the time this will work fine, because iTunes will detect that there's been a folder change and work accordingly. In case that iTunes didn't catch the folder change, go to "Options > Advanced" and change the location of the iTunes Media library folder manually.
