Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
My fax only pulls the paper in half about 2-3 cm and then stops pulling while the ink roll is still spinning and printing without the paper. I had this once before and was serviced once before 6 months ago. Can I fix it myself?
Open the machine up to see if you have drop something in it like a pencil, piece of paper or other debris. Hold it upside down and see if something falls out.

SOURCE: Check Rec Paper
First power off the machine. Facing the machine from the front, remove the rear tray extension that holds the paper and "feel your way" down into the right side of the of the back paper tray. You should feel a out-of-round feed roller. With a little effort you can rotate this around. Take a terry like cloth and dampen it with water and clean this roller. Before puttin any paper back into the tray, turn the machine back on so the paper feed assembly will return to the home position.

We call the moose method of clearing paper jams, the RCMP method, cuz they only know how to shoot to kill. You did good. Except, there is no such thing as "Bending" anything. The term is "re-form."

Open the front of the fax machine. Then pull down the the tray that has the down arrow imprinted on it. Locate the glass strip towards the back, just behind the center roller. Use a cloth and rubbing alcohol to clean the glass and that should remove the black line.

SOURCE: Paper jam in Panasonic KX-
Your document feed is separate from your received and report prints so that's why your reports are printing ok and the document feeder jams. When you open up the doc feeder and look inside the machine you will see a roller and above it on the cover that opens you will see a rubber pad. Clean both the roller and pad (in fact anything in there that is rubber) with a rubber cleaner, alcohol, or even soap and water on a cloth without it been dripping wet. You will probablt find that they are very dirty. The roller feeds the document in so that needs to be clean and the pad helps to keep all the other docs from feeding in at the same time and that should be very clean so it produces good friction.
