Question about Asko Washing Machines

Replaced burnt out main control panel

I have just replaced the main control panel as the small transformer and IC burnt out. The new panel appears to work properly but simply resets after about 40 seconds in any function. Is there something simple I am forgetting to reset?

SOURCE: washer stopped working

To help you with this problem I need you to do something. Place the machine in spin cycle and see if it will pump the water out. Also, lift the lid and look at the back. There should be a model/serial number plate. This information would help.

I do not believe the motor is at fault. I suspect a bad motor coupler. If the machine willpump the water out then I am Sure.

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

Some problems that can occur with your top-loading washing machine are:

There's an error code on the digital display

It doesn't work at all
It won't drain
It doesn't spin
It doesn't agitate
It's noisy
It leaks
It's off balance
There's no hot water
There's no cold water
It's slow to fill
There's no water at all
The clothes are wet after spinning
The cycle doesn't advance
There's no delicate or regular spin or agitate
It's overfilling
It's underfilling
The water temperature is incorrect

hope this may help;

Here in New Zealand if that happens, I am often asked to provide a report stating that a Surge/Spike, had caused the damage, and the insurance Company will cover it? Can you do that? At least it will lessen costs, I charge for the report, but it's still a cheaper option if you can claim? Power Surges/Spikes usually totally wreck, the electronics... So replacement is only option... You may need a serviceman to check, and if OK write a report for your insurance?

Manual tuning in my new Akai LT-2204AB kills me. The programs won t lock in place, although i followed the instructions.

The main system memory IC to your TV has damaged. It should be replaced. It is a very small IC, having only 8 solder terminals. It can be located very near to the main system control IC. Even though it is very small in physical size, and chap to buy, replacing it on the main board is a skilled work indeed. Contact any experienced service technician.

I have a Jandy Aqualink RS system. The wires for one of the valve activators was shorted and the outdoor control panel and the indoor control panel lost power. None of the circuit breakers was tripped.

On the RS system there is a small fuse on the back of the circuit board. That may have been burnt. It acts as a safety for the transformer. Make sure ALL of the power is off, then check that fuse. Do not keep the shorted valve actuator plugged in. Replace it, or leave it disconnected. Then replace the fuse. Then re-apply power to the unit. Otherwise your transformer may go out next. If the fuse is not burnt, which would surprise me, you may have a burnt transformer.
