Hi Paul,
Are you talking about using Windows Updates? or a specific update?
For Windows Updates, just click Start>All Programs, and if you scroll to the top, look down a few lines and you'll see "Windows Updates" Click that and just follow the instructions.
If it's a different update, please send more Info.

Thanks!,
Gary

Hi, I have a GN8120 USB and want to use it with Windows 7. With Windows Xp it was installed automatically. With Windows 7 I got an error during installation. Do you have a solution for that? Thanks Best...

To enable Windows 7 support for the GN8120 USB headset, you need to make sure it's it has Firmware Version 11.0 or newer. The version 11.0 firmware updater can be found at http://www.jabra.com/sites/Jabra/GNimages/Software updates/GN8120_Update_790.zip or http://headsetplus.com/PDF/GN8120_Update_790.zip. Other headset updates and more info can be found at http://headsetplus.com/faqdesk44/faqdesk_info.html. Note that the firmware update must be performed under Windows XP, not Windows 7.

I need the update for Windows 7 for my Voice Editing. I bought a new computer and cannot use my old version.

If you need to update your Windows 7 then for the first thing the Windows 7 that you will be using should be genuine to avoid any further software problems. To turn on updates on Windows 7
  1. Right click on "Computer" and select properties of it.
  2. In the opening window on the left bottom select "Windows Update.
From there you can activate Windows update and your system will automatically download updates from Microsoft site as they are available.

My mouse Labtec Wireless Laser Mouse for Notebooks doesn't work on windows 7, Thanks

If your internet connection is working in Windows 7, I suggest you try obtaining the drivers through Windows Update. Click Start > All Programs > Windows Update > Turn on Windows Update. A list of available updates will then be downloaded, you will have the option to view them, do so and check off the appropriate drivers or software patches you need and click Install. You can also check the manufacturer's website for patches, updated drivers or to simply find out about Windows 7 support for the particular product.

After it checks for updates, it will show you the important and optional updates.
  • Click on "...important updates".
  • Check all the important updates, believe me the computer needs it.
  • Then click the Optional TAB in the left column.

Hardware updates are shown in this OPTIONAL updates tab.
  • Check all, EXCEPT the Language Packs.
  • Click OK on the lower right corner of that window.
  • Then click on install updates.
I hope this will work for you.

Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day.

To install a different language - Multilingual User Interface (MUI) - you need to have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate
Type Anytime Upgrade in the Search programs and files box in the Start menu and click on the Windows Anytime Upgrade icon. From there, you can buy an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Then your can enter your Anytime Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate so you can install a different language.

If you are in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US you can use Anytime Upgrade. If not you will need to buy Windows 7 Ultimate, or buy Windows 7 in the language you need.

HP calls my HP Pavilion dv9417cl Notebook PC a "Vista PC" and will not support it after I upgraded the OS to Windows 7. Nvidia doesn't appear to be of any help either. windows auto update keeps...

You should of used the Windows 7 Advisor before upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista. The advisor will indicate the hardware and software updates and changes you'll need before performing the upgrade. If you've already installed Windows 7, you can go to the Microsoft Update page and see what kind of updates you need for Windows 7 to work in you laptop. Also, go to the HP website and check the drivers download page for your computer with Window 7 installed, download the drivers, and then install them one at a time for each device. You won't need to talk to a human to do this.

My hp deskjet 810C printer does not function with windows 7

If you mean Windows 7 Drivers issue with this printer, simply connect the printer and update the Windows, it'll automatically install the printer. This model supports windows 7, but there is no driver available to download, the only way to get it worked on windows 7 platform is Windows Update.. You can follow the instructions on how to update windows:

  • Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  • Depending on which Control Panel view you use, Classic or Category, do one of the following:
  • Click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
  • Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
  • Click the option that you want. Make sure Automatic Updates is not turned off.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

P5n-mx will support windows 7

Hi,

The motherboard support Windows Vista 32 and 64 bit operating systems so it will definitely support windows 7.
You will probably find that after you've installed Windows 7 there will be no need to install drivers for it.
All you'll probably need to do is update them via Windows Update.

Regards.

DVD drive Read problem in my Dell Dimension 3000

Make sure you have any and all Windows 7 updates from Microsoft, along with any updates for your DVD drive for use with Windows 7. Some components work fine using Vista SP2 drivers, but some will need an update to work with Windows 7.

This Microsoft site might help verify if your DVD drive is compatible with Windows 7:

Windows 7 will not allow me to pick 1680x1050 for the resolution. It defaults to a lower resolution with no option to take it higher.

Go to Windows 7 web site and check the equipment compatability list for your monitor.

If it is there - read the particulars

If it is not, complain to the monitor manufacturer - ask them to create a driver for this model.

I hope this helps you

Thanks for unit FixYa.com
