Dell A920 prints from computer but dosenn't respond to scan or copy

    the printer now gives box " not communicating with printer" no printing now

Hi Everest511,
 Follow the below steps :-
A) Restart the pc. If still unable to scan or copy then follow the next step.
B) 

  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
  2. Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer.
  3. Wait 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall socket.

    If problem still persists, then follow the next step.

    C) To reseat the USB cable connected between the printer and computer, perform the following steps:
    1. Reseat (disconnect and re-connect) the USB cable into the USB jack on the printer.

    2. Reseat the USB cable into the USB jack on the computer.

    If problem still remain the same, follow the next step.
    D) Reinstall all drivers and check all the basic setting. If possible try to restore the pc to the date on which you were able to scan and copy documents.
    If problem still remain, you need to call Dell.It must be a serious issue.

Well i think u need to install the All-in-one driver for ur printer.You can download the driver from dell website
You can donwload it from the below link:
http://ftp.us.dell.com/printer/R60655.EXE

To Do it step by step go to below web page that describe the each and every step u need to take.

    One more thing it has some compatibility issues with window vista so u need to install its driver if u have installed vista on ur PC

    have you restart ur computer and please tell me which os u r using.
    and have u follow the instuctions given in the link given by me.

    u need to first completely uninstall the driver from ur PC before installing the All in One driver

    If you want to scan you will need to connect the device to a computer. For copying, place a document to be copied on the flatbed scanner and press the color or black button (as appropriate).

    Hi,
    The all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work fully with Vista.

    But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

    1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
    2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
    3. Highlight your scanner icon (eg Dell A920) then click import.
    4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.
