Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Mitsubishi rear projection TV , Model VS-45603.In the last year it started to turn off by itself. It has no real pattern. It can turn off 2-3 times one day and none the next day. It is hooked up with Direct TV. The TV will turn itself off and the Tivo box will stay on. WE have to wait about 10 min. before we can turn the TV back on. I have a 65" Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV bought in 2004. It to is connected to Direct TV who I believe is responsible for the TV shutting down. The TV does not exactly turn off. It looses all signal. The only way to get the signal back is to power the TV off & on. Sometimes it will not pick up the signal for hours. The only thing you can do is keep powering the TV off & on until you regain signal. I didnt really have this issue until I connected it to a High definition receiver. Direct TV says its my TV. They replaced the receiver once without fixing the issue

What kind of cable are you using to connect it with (coax, HDMI, RCA (composite), component, s-video)?
This may be a grounding problem. Either the cable from the satellite dish is grounded to something with a little electricity running through it or you may have a hot ground in your electrical outlet. Or the cable may be on a different ground than your electrical outlet and by connecting the two it has created a slight electrical current. You can try using a plug adaptor to remove your receiver from the electrical outlet ground. These adaptors are meant for older homes and electrical outlets that do not have a third hole or ground plug. The outer metal part of all video connectors is the ground and this may be causing the tv to act strangely.

I hope this works.

Mitsubishi VS-45603 had power outage and when it came back on it says TV is locked. How do I unlock it?

Go into the 'Menu' -> then 'Setup' -> then 'A/V Connections'.

You should see an option called 'Locked to Input' switch it to 'No' and your problem should be solved!

TV will not turn on

you either have leaky capacitors near the voltage regulators, cooling fluid leaking on the boards, and/or bad solder connections on the yoke plugs. this model is known for all 3 problems, but you probably need a qualified tv repairman to fix this right.

Sound is distorted on this Mitsubishi Model No. vs-45603

how old is your unit?sometimes distortion is caused by interference, like motor or automobiles but that is minimal.connection of the antenna , cable and other connectors can also be the caused.if all these are not the cause, call a tech.the audio circuit is faulty.
