Re: WLAN Problem

Hi, A couple of things you can try: 1. In your Device Manager, expand your Networking Adapter, right click on your WiFi and click on enable; 2. Some notebook/laptop models have a hard swtich on either the side or the front to activate the radio of the WiFi; 3. Verify that your WiFi drivers are installed and that it has no red or yellow markings (Device Manager); 4. If you are using plug-in (USB or PCM card), verify that they are plugged in snugly.

Re: WLAN Problem

I have a similar problem. Two weeks ago suddenly my WLANappears as disable! It doesn't appear in the device manager and once (of the many times) that I reinstalled the driver it said the WLAN adaptor cannot be enble from windows (vista) and it should be done through the BIOS (which has no option to do so). I have a HP Pavillion 1320 us. PS: HP just sent me a new wireless card and it is the same. :-(

There have been a number of solutions for this particular problem, it was documented on the HP community boards and some motherboards were recalled under warranty. Like the infamous Nvidia graphics chip fault, the Wlan would stop functioning after a while, even though it was "seen" in device manager. Sometimes flashing the bios to the latest update would cure it, but more often than not it failed to work.
Replacing the Wlan card also will not work (unless it is that card that has failed). usually the problem is with a fault on the motherboard. In cases like this, I have used a USB network dongle as being the best workaround to the problem.

This AP is in network x.x.102.0, which has it's own DHCP server. Only lan-port and WLAN are used on AP. I need this AP not to have it's own ip-adress, but devices, that connect to it,using WLAN,...

Ideally, there shouldn't be any configuration needed. Access points are transparent and only work as a bridge between wireless and wired network so devices should obtain their IP info from your DHCP server not the access point by default.
If you face problems, then there might be a DHCP server in the access point, disable that.

good luck

My laptop was connecting to WLAN until few days ago but suddenly it has stopped working. When I restart the laptop, the light goes red and the network adapter gets disabled. After checked, the message comes...

Have you download any software recently? Often times, this can alter things with your network, (irritating, yes I know), something like a new security program...... Try disabling the security and then try enabling it...... Hope this helps :)

PS: Remember after you are connected to enable your security program....

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion laptop but the HP WLAN is always disabled. How can I fix this problem?

All laptops have a user button or switch to turn the wireless access on or off. Look for a red light above the keyboard; touch it and it should turn blue (that will turn the access on again). Alternatively, you could have a switch in the front or along the sides to turn wireless access on or off. Hope this helps.

Wirless connection wont connect to network.

On the WLAN world, exist a encryption key for connection. You will be able to see the "antenna", but until you enter the key you will not be able to access the network or the internet. First, disable the wireless security and try. Once you have verified the connection to internet then you add security. Use WEP.

If Internet OK check if radio is enabled in your Belkin router.

No lights(lits)on WLAN-No acces from the computer

WLAN light will give you the status of your wireless connection. If WLAN light is off, it might be a possibility that wireless has been turned off or worse is the device had stopped broadcasting a wireless signal. you may try using to get into the setup page of the device to check if wireless has been disabled.
