Hot water won't quit running into washer

Hi there,

Within your washing machine there is a 'water inlet value' that controls the flow of water into the unit. This value is controlled by various means, usually an electric solenoid itself controlled by the computer board also built into the machine.

If the shut-off value (the one coming from your house wall where you connect the water hose) is open, and water is still flowing into the machine while the machine if off, then the unit's water inlet valve is seized in the open position.

I've attached a video on how to replace the inlet value.

The water doesn't come out of the fridgerator

HI. Check your water filters date on the capsule. If it is more than 10 months old, this will be the culprit. If the water filter is not more than 10 months old, i would then advise to test the operational value of the inlet assembly.

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

Water not coming through the dispenser

HI. there is a water valve(inlet) that is responsible for the flow of water to the dispenser and ice maker(if equipped). i recommend testing the operational value of this valve.((Make sure the lines are not frozen before testing. frozen lines will affect the flow also))

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

It is the inlet valve, some are located inside the appliance, some mounted in the back panel. Occationaly some have the valve at the end of the hose in a box. The price for repair the first one cheapest the last most expensive. regards Appliance Doctor
