Question about Dell 2200MP Multimedia Projector
Our projector can't find a signal from any pc or laptop. we'll all using windows xp pro. it's out of warranty and there doesn't seem to be any place to have it repaired. I'm willing go in if I have to.
One problem may be that you must tell the PC to send the signal to the external monitor. Usually, if you hold down the function button and hit the F5 key you will see several options on the screen. (Other laptops use different function keys. Look for the one that shows two tv screens. You want the option which shows the laptop and the external monitor.) To advance between options, you hit the F5 button again and it moves over to the next option.
My computer needs me to lower the resolution on the laptop in order to send the signal to the projector. If you also need to do that, you can do it in Control Panel, Display, and Settings, and lower the resolution on screen number 1.
Doing both of these things should work.
Also, confirm that it is finding signals by hooking it to a DVD or video and see if it finds the signal through one of the other ports.

I tried all the troubleshooting I could think of and I spoke with a tech at Dell. It was decided the issue was a hardware problem on the projector not the computer. As a last resort, before I sent the projector to be repaired, I swapped out the cable. I was in shock when the projector found the signal. I cannot figure out why the cable failed but this did solve the problem. It was a cheap and simple fix.

Our Dell 2200MP is hooked to a new computer with the Windows WP Professional operating system on it. It projected fine until I tried to play a video off of a CD. The computer monitor screen went "crazy" and the projector lost the signal. I am unable to get a signal now, after rebooting the computer, going to the Display panel and checking things out, etc. The projector still works when I connect it to other computers.
