Accidentally bought wrong ink. dripped ink from new cartridge into old one. wont recognize cartridge is full. claims it is empty. any fixes

Depends on brand, but HP for sure has these Ink level sensors that have a small IC (just a surface blob) that remembers the levels, as far as I know you cannot reset the chip but some printers have an override to just ignore the level.

In printer canon ip 1800 is showing ink absorber is full cant use the printer

Hope you find this information helpful.
The printer has a built-in ink absorber to hold the ink used during Print Head Cleaning, for example. Eight flashes indicates that the ink absorber is nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the ink absorber becomes completely full, contact a Canon service representative. (You will need to replace a particular part of the printer. Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be performed until the ink absorber is replaced

My Canon MP160 inkjet won't print. In trying to print a test page, I get the message that the ink absorber is full. What is the remedy for this?

A message display is common with insufficient ink cartrigges. Printers that perform several printing tasks is usually common to deplete the ink capacity. Alternately, installing an ink cartrige may have been a lasting duration possible need for a new cartridge replacement. However, perform a device functionality check by opening the compartments that contain replaceable materials. Ascertain the depleted material requiring replacement like ink, printing paper. Also, observe any malalligned materials like stuck printingn paper. Once every replaceable parts have been cleaned and restored, reconnecting the printer to the computer should request for an allignment functionality.

Waste Ink Absorber

New waste ink absorbers are available from Canon, there are ten of them and they are cheap (approx. $10.00) You can also order the whole bottom unit which holds the absorbers. It is also cheap (under $20.00) I believe this comes with the ink absorbers in it although I have not received mine yet so i don't know for sure. I ordered both, can't hurt to have an extra set of absorbers. Now as to the project of exchanging the old used ones out for the new ones, the instructions are available in a number of places. I got ahold of a few different ones including the official Canon Service Manual for this on the Web. I have not performed the exchange yet so stand by...............
