You might be low on gas in your compressor. If compressor comes o b but doesn't cool chances are gas is too low. Make sure coils are clean and air gets to the back of the unit

Amana AC not working blower will come on but compressor will not any ideas?

compressor may be leaking. and you are losing Freon, Have a HVAC tech come and check compressor for leaks. That is probably why the compressor is not working. Also make sure the filter is not dirty and plugged up, that would overheat the compressor, shutting it down.

My AC mod#LRA257ST2 will not come on. Was working fine and just went off now it wont start. I have checked the power and it has it. Is there a fuse on the unit that may need to be reset

There are no fuses on such units, have you reset the GFI plug if it has one? Have you tried another plug or outlet? Clean the air filter and any coils or parts you can reach and retry.

I want to know the most effecient height as to wall mount my Model LRA257ST2 25,000 BTU air conditioner. Is closer to the ceiling better?

Yes, closer to the ceiling is better. As, hot air rises and cold air falls. Just keep it about a foot off the ceiling.

What compressor do i need

The compressors that come in units change from year to year and model to model. Depending on the age and type of unit, it could be a Copeland, Bristol....just about anything in the 2 ton range.

Best bet would be to look down and on the top or side of the compressor, you should see a series of numbers that have the model and serial numbers. The model would be the compressor you seek and the serial will help to determine the age of the compressor. Also be sure to look for a name brand such as Copeland, Bristol, Tecumseh, etc.etc..

Clicking noise coming from my fridge, why?

Depending on model number and location of noise I believe with any refrigerator that clicking will come from compressor overload when the compressor tries to start. Certain GE Models that fall into the category of Profile/Artica have motherboards that make the same clicking sounds when they go bad. If coming from compressor then it tells me that the compressor is trying to start. If so and the clicking continues the compressor could be damaged. If you need someone to assist you in repair I will gladly assist you. Sea Breeze

Noisy Compressor

either the compressor is under charged or it is near breakdown. compressor cost is almost the 1/3 of the freezer cost.
