Question about Xerox DocuPrint N40 Laser Printer

Asterisks in display

When powering on the printer, printer initalizes. It displays the "version" and it doesn't appear that any faults occurs. Then a single "*" apppears in the display. A short time later the display fills with "*"'s and the on-line indicator goes green, but the printer goes no further. The asterisks stay in the display and the "READY" state is never reached. The printer was working fine until netware was disabled and the printer re-booted.

My Xerox DocuPrint N40 several times jamed first. But it made this broken gear noise after I took out the last jammed sheet. I removed the tone cartridge and the fuser to see if I could see any broken or damaged gears. I found none. I put all the parts back and shut the door, no noise started. One minute later I looked at the screen and saw "Sys ERR OU476 Power Off & On" on the display screen. I restarted the printer. First a single * appeared, then followed by several * in a row and then it returned to the "Sys ERR OU476 Power Off & On" with the Online & fault lights on as well as a blinking Data light.

I just purchased my HP 4500 printer and began to install it. I see an error (!) symbol and I believe German writing. I need to remove that symbol and change the language to English.

Selecting the display language
To change the display language on the printer control panel, do the
following:
1 Press and hold [SELECT] on the printer control panel while pressing
the standby button (power switch). Continue holding [SELECT] until
the control panel displays
SELECT LANGUAGE (in English), and then release the [SELECT] key.
2 When the control panel displays LANGUAGE=ENGLISH *, press
[VALUE] repeatedly until your language choice appears.
3 Press [SELECT] to save your language choice. An asterisk appears
next to the selected language. Then press [GO].
4 After the printer warms up, the control panel displays READY in the
selected language.
Note
If the control panel does not display the message in the language you
selected, press the printer standby button and repeat the instructions for
changing the display language.

HP Laserjet 4345MFP
Backlight on printer display does not light.
Counts up the 256MB memory then HP logo (3 sizes) appears (just visible)
The 3 lights keep cycling on the display. Thats it, does nothing else.
It has been left overnight and continues to display the logo and cycling 3 lights.
Rear DC Cont Fan is turning. No other fans or activity with machine.
When ADF/scanner/mfp or hard disk are disconnected it does recognise this and throws an error and asks for reboot.
I have tried cold reset, nvram init. and hard disk init. but no difference.
Your thoughts?

I changed the language and can't get it back to English. Can someone tell me how please????

I suggest you go to www.hp.com/support and search your 3380 printer. Find the owners manual and look in the index for instructions on how to change the language. If you have the owners manual ... well you could use that instead.

Precor Error E4, Incomplete Initialization Probable Cause Indicates that an incomplete upper PCA to lower PCA initialization occurred. When this error occurs, all lift motor and drive motor motion is ceased and the display will go blank except for the error displayed.
Corrective Action Run the initialization program. Caution: The treadmill's running belt will accelerate to the treadmill's maximum speed (12mph). DO NOT stand on the treadmill's running belt during the procedure.
  1. Set the on/off switch to the OFF position. Wait a minimum of 10 seconds to allow the internal power supply to discharge.
  2. Remove the safety key from the console and set the on/off switch to the ON position.
  3. Press INCLINE UP and SPEED DOWN keys together. While pressing these keys, replace the safety switch on the console. Continue holding the INCLINE UP and SPEED DOWN keys until the display goes blank. INIT will appear in the time window of the display. The EEPROM is now clear and reset. After a second, 1.25 will appear in the distance/calories window, 15.0 (the maximum incline) will appear in the incline window, and 12.0 (the maximum speed) will flash in the speed/pace window.
  4. Press QUICKSTART to begin the speed calibration process. Power bits will appear in the incline window, the target speed will appear in the time window and the actual speed will appear in the speed/pace window. At the beginning of the process, the target speed will be .5mph. The running belt will start. Once the actual speed reaches .5mph, the target speed will then change to 12mph and the running belt will accelerate until it reaches 12mph, then it will stop.
  5. When the running belt stops, the display will return to the user mode and the initialization process is complete.
