Question about Viper Security and Remote Start System (basic install included)

Car is NOT starting. Lights are not "flashing" when I hit the yellow start button. It will LOCK and UNLOCK using the remote, but it's not STARTING the 2008 Honda CRV. Do I need a new battery in the remote or is ther something in the car itself that I have to turn on or off? It was working until about 3 days ago. cgarcia1109@gmail.com thank you

Is the car starting using the key? (manually), if so, then replace the remote battery, if problem still persists, then check the remote & the car's receiver...
or
the car's battery or some controller might be out-of-service!
new cars are electronically controlled, if any problem occurs, it jams the whole car,  perhaps this might be your case.. For your Safety: it is recommended to ask help from Honda Service Centre!!

Go to use the remote starter and the lights will come on so will the radio but it wont start.

I would change the battery in the car and in the remote just as a precaution. It could also be your starter.

I bought a 2007 Camry with a remote start. The seller doesn't know how to start the car with the remote. The remote is a 4 button Viper 474V.


First, be sure that the remote is programmed for the vehicle by using it to operate the door locks(pressing the lock and unlock buttons). The parking lights should flash if nothing else works.The usual way to operate the remote starter with this remote is by pressing the * button once but, the option could have changed if the remote has been reprogrammed differently. So, try pressing the * button once. If this doesn't work press it twice within two seconds.If this doesn't work try pressing the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. If these steps fail to initiate the remote starter try the steps listed for the * button with the aux button. If either of the remote starter inhibits (hood pin, neutral safety) are active you should receive flashing parking lights for a failed attempt to remote start.

Lock: Left button will lock all doors. Double chirp indicates locked.
Unlock: Right button will unlock driver's door only. Hold unlock button app 6 seconds, it will unlock all doors including rear gate. Single chirp indicated unlock.
If the car chirps or lights flash 4x the alarm was triggered.
Panic. Press both buttons to activate emergency honk and flashing lights.
Valet mode: With optional alarm onlyPress the red alarm button on the left of the steering wheel. The light will quickly double flash. To re-set back to normal mode, press the red alarm light button again

Battery failed and lights flashing?
Parking lights will flash when the vehicle's battery is disconnected and reconnected.
To stop lights from flashing, either:
Press remote transmitter "UNLOCK" button once OR turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and press programming button for one second (see below).
The vehicle interior (courtesy) light and door open warning light (DOOR AJAR indicator) will then illuminate for 60 seconds when the ignition is turned off, or until the doors are locked with the remote transmitter. Yes, the dashboard instrument panel lights will flash when the parking lights flash.

Programming or Overriding the Alarm when you have lost the remote
Open driver's door.
Turn ignition key to 'On'
Press and *hold programming button* in (see diagram, button under dashboard)
After 15 seconds the the door locks will cycle 3 times. Do not release Programming button.
Press lock (left) button the remotes to be programmed. The door locks will cycle one time. Exit programming mode by releasing Programming button under dashboard and turning key to off.

If you can't find it, it might still be tucked up in the wiring harness higher up in that same general area. The botton is recessed in a plastic ring (see diagram).
This button must be pressed while programming remotes or if the battery was disconnected and the lights are flashing.

Lost original car alarm control... need to reset a new one...



programing a Nissan remote , is hidden secret by Nissan Dealers. As a Nissan Technician i will share it.

Just get in your vech , close all doors. Using your power lock switch , lock all doors. After doors are locked take your Ignition Key and insert it and remove it from ignition switch in a slow fashion , but consitant pace. (97 and earlyer are fast) When you see the hazzard lights flash, put key in ignition switch and turn to the On postion .. Do NOT CRANK or you will have to Start over .. After in the On postion .. Hit the Lock button on remote... Hazzard lights should flash..( note..you have to reprogram all remotes when adding a new one , if you don't your old remotes will not work ) If your doing just the one , turn igntion switch off and unlock door and get out and try it. If you are doing more than one. While still in Vech with Key on . After you hit the Lock button on Remote and hazzard light flashed .. with key still on .. use master lock switch unlock doors and relock and then hit Second Remote, Lights should flash again , repeat if adding a 3rd remote.. after done just turn key off and unlock door and get out and try.

The doors lock when I start the car - I don't want that!


the unit can be programmed to lock the doors after starting, to make it leave it alone you have to enter the programming(ignition on, press the valet switch 5 times within 5 seconds, the lights will flash 3 times to signal you have entered programming, then press valet switch 10 times(lock after start setting) within 5 seconds hit the unlock button on the remote (button closest to the side with the other buttons)
then turn off the ignition to save the settings and it should be done

ok get in the car, close the door, make sure all doors are closed.... put the key in the ignition, turn the key to on but without starting the car (lights on dash light up only) press and release the key lock button, turn key to off, without removeing the key.. turn to on without starting the car (dash lights up only) press and release the key lock button again, turn the ignition off, without removeing the key then turn back on (lights on dash on only without starting the car, press and release the key lock button , turn off the ignition without removeing the key, ..turn on the ignition once more without starting the car , press and release the key lock button and u should hear the door lock cycle ....leave the key in the ignition ... now press the lock button or unlock button on the other remotes one at a time if u have them.....u should hear the lock cycle indicateing all remotes are programmed.... kind of tricky to explain but you will get it, the sequence of turnin the key in the ignition on and off is only done with that one first key,,, remember after the door lock cyles press the lock or unlock button on the other remote fobs if if any...and ur done..may take u a few trys.. let me know how it worked out.

Program a remote key for 03 A6


I have an A4 and did this to re-program my key:

1. used the key to start the car...then turned it off
2. put the key in the driver door (door closed)
3. pressed the lock button on the key fob once
4. turned the key to lock the door.

This is basically the steps in the owners manual, but the car must be started with the key first, and the key must be in the door lock before pressing the lock button.

I have a 2003 sierra and my remote starter would not work, it would lock and unlock only, checked out this site found the solution, tried it and in two seconds i solved the problem, Just press the lock button and the start button and viola it works again, thanks for all your help , GGGreat site glad i found it John

Key fob not working


hello mate.. if it has stopped working you might want to check the battery first.. if you are sure that the battery is fine then consider reprogramming the fob to your car.. here are the steps to follow.. NISSAN

Remote Control Fob Procedures:

The Central Door locking is controlled by the Multi-Remote Control system which controls
the door locking, door super locking and emergency hazard reminders.

When the doors are locked and unlocked the unit flashes the hazard lights once for lock and twice for unlock.

A maximum of four remote controls are allowed to be programmed:

ALMERA
ALMERA TINO
PRIMERA
MAXIMA
MICRA
SERENA
VANETTE CARGO
TERANO II

Ensure all the doors have been unlocked, either by using a good transponder key or remote
control plip key.

Procedure:
1. Turn the ignition switch from Position 0 to ON 6 times within 10 seconds.
2. Next, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Leave key in ignition switch.
3. Wait 2 seconds then the system will enter programming mode and will flash the warning
lights twice.
4. Press and HOLD the unlock button on the Plip.
5. While pressing the unlock button, press the lock button 3 times.
6. Release the unlock button.
7. The warning lights will flash once to indicate successful programming.
8. Repeat procedure 4 to 7 for up to 4 plip key's.
9. When completed turn ignition ON, and the warning lights will flash 2 times.
10. Remove key, and check all plip key's for operation.
NOTE : The programming mode will stop when either the ignition is switch ON, 4 plip keys
have been programmed or no input signal either from the switch or plip keys has been received
for 120 seconds.

Viper 4806v won't program I am trying to install a viper 4806v two-way remote start/keyless entry in my automatic 2004 toyota camry LE 4cyl. I got the lock/unlock, horn, lights to work, and trunk pop to work. I can't seem to get the remote start to work. When I press the remote start button on the remote keypad, the car does not start and the headlights flash 7 times. Troubleshooting says 7 flashes mean a manual transmission mode error. This means I have to enter programming menu 3 and change the starter to automatic mode. When I follow the directions to get to menu 3, nothing happens because I cannot get to menu 3 when I hold down the control button after turning the ignition off. In other words, the control button is not working. The neutral switch is on like it is supposed to be. Kind of bummed about this. Could use some guidance. My wiring goes accordingly and this car does not have an immobilizer because I used a regular metal key to start it. This car has no alarm, just a stock keyless entry, trunk release, and panic button. Again, the problem is :The remote start comes in default manual transmission mode so I have to switch it to automatic transmission mode but I can't seem to enter programming. When I try to enter programming with the procedure followed using the control button, nothing happens. It does not chirp and the LED does not blink. I also cannot enter valet mode using the control button. When the car is locked, the LED blinks and stop blinking if car is unlocked ignition is turned on. I do not understand what is going on.
