Mine would do it on battery or ac power. I was able to troubleshoot
that I thought there was a battery problem. I could remove the battery
and it would run ok. Now it doesn't start at all.

I found this problem really similar to the famous ring of death in xbox 360, thermal paste alone won't solve the problem, you have to increase the pressure beetween dissipator and cpuand it couldnotbe easy. In my case in a very artigianal way, i put 2 pieces of round gum and two coins just below the cpu cover in corrispondence with the disipator and i closed eveything with tape. Now if the tape mantain its position, laptop work!!!if you are a pc expert maybe you could change the xclamp and the dissipator.

Try removing hard drive and see if it starts up .... remove any recent upgrades ! , remove wireless card, remove everything you can and than try start it up , also try restoring bios to defult

Shutdown can be caused by several things.

Easiest, operating system corruption...

Try starting up your laptop, and hit the "setup" key, usually F2 or Del... once there, leave it running for 15 to 20 minutes. If it stays up, then you have a problem with the OS.

If it dies again, you may have issues with cooling of the chipset or CPU. Make sure your system gets sufficient air cooling. some systems have the ability in the setup menu to monitor the CPU core temps and voltages. Watch these also.

Last, but not least, you have a power supply problem. This too will cause a shutdown...  Hope this helps...

Ebay battery? made in china? that happen a lot.. most laptop battery are designed with the proper voltages, Watts so on and so forth.. don't be fooled on a cheap battery sold on ebay it may works but only few times, what it does is restricting the power to your laptop and obtain time laptop can't handle the power... buy OEM replacement battery..

P8b75-mle will not shut down

Hit control alt delete and look and see how many running programs you, most of the time it is a background running program that locks up the shut down process. On average you should have only 60 to 70 programs running. Reduce these and your start ups and shut downs will be much quicker, there are third party software that can enable you to do this with ease, or you can search google .

Guys pls help me on this..about my asus X50GL series,if i started to play a game on my laptop, after a second or a minute my laptop will shutdown..do you have any idea on this?.,.

When you play any games on a laptop it will heat up because the graphics card or chip will be working much more than usual... Graphics cards consume a lot of power and thus put off a lot of heat when taxed. If it runs fine for a minute and then shuts down you are more than likely having an overheating issue...

Check your exhaust fans and vents to make sure they are not all clogged up with dust and dirt... If they are then clean them out with a can of air...

You should also get yourself a decent laptop cooler... They are pretty cheap and will prolong the life of you laptop for sure... Heat Kills Electronics...

Asus will not turn off after shutdown

All these things point to the bios. You need to go to the Asus site for that motherboard and download an upgraded bios. There will be directions there on how to update your bios, probably both from Windows and from the system prompt.

Yamaha 6500 watt diesel runs but usually shuts

First thing to monitor is the fuel solenoid power. See if it is the thing that goess away to cause shutdown.

Tracing this back there is only a few things that control this: The battery, the low oil shutdown switch, and the run switch, and associated wiring.

If I were to ventture a guess, I would put money on the low oil shutdown switch.

I HAVE P5RD1-VM ASUS BOARD NOW COMPUTER STARTED PROBLEM

Hi,

several reasons for this.

1:) CPU Overheating.
2:) RAM Overheating.
3:) Motherboard Component Overheating.
4:) FAN not operating correctly.

These are a few things that can shutdown a computer after a few minutes, also viruses/trojans et,c.
can shut off hard-drives. and even instruct the bios to change settings.

Check that the CPU And case fans work correctly.
