To block any website from internet explorer follow these steps:

1- Open tools menu from the menu bar of IE.
2- Click on Internet Options.
3- Now click on Privacy option from Internet options menu bar.

4- Now click on "Sites"

I am unabale to use smart web printing with IE8. I have a C4480 multifunction printer

In answer to your question, yes, there is no harm in leaving Add-ons disabled, however, some website features like Flash applets will not automatically start. Let’s try uninstalling IE8 and rolling back to IE7 to see if this resolves the print problem or to determine if there is something else going on. Here is a link the link to a Microsoft Knowledge Base article that has the steps to uninstall IE8 and return to IE7:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700
Once you are back to IE7 try and print from IE and some of your other apps. If you can print from IE7 then we will know that there is something definitely within your IE8 installation we need to troubleshoot. If you are STILL unable to print web pages we will know there is something else going on. Lets us know what you find out.

In IE7 Vista protected Mode ON, cannot print web pages. Tried the following solutions: 1. Uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh printer driver 2. Used ICACLS to set integrity level of ..AppDataLocalTempLow...

did you disable the protected mode and totally exit all ie7 windows. then restart and then go to your website and try to print again. To disable the protect mode go to tools then internet options then security then at bottom uncheck protected mode on box. now close all windows and try to print from web page. if not see if the website that you want to print from has a little icon hiding saying 'printer friendly' and click on that.

Getting message stating add-on was running when problem occurred

Try going into your control panel & uninstall your Internet explorer, then re-install it. IE7 uninstall can be found in the main add-remove program window, IE6 uninstall can be found under the add-remove windows components part of the add-remove programs. To re-install IE7, though, you need to go to windows update to download IE7 again. This won't be a problem because uninstalling IE7 automaticaly returns you to IE6

Compaq Presario R3150US shuts down with IE7, cpu usage goes up

Have you inatalled the latest service pack before you upgraded to IE7?
If not, suggest you un-install IE7, install the service pack, reboot computer and then upgrade to IE7.
If IE7 causes you problems the revert back to IE6.

IE7 or Firefox

Hi there
Why use Firefox?

IE7 is a very heavy application. It uses up a lot of your available memory, it is heavely integrated with other Microsoft features and to be brutally honest. Web designers and developers hate it.

Firefox has more third party addons and features. It is lighter, quicker and displays websites like the designer wished them to be displayed.

The only real compition to Firefox is Goggle Chrome. Which is very similar to Firefox but but fully integrated with all Goggle apps and is really fast.

My advice. Dump EI7

Won't open after upgrading to IE7

Many programs are not yet compatible with IE7. As an ISP we are not recommending people to upgrade to this version yet. I have IE7 on my system and know that it is not compatible with many websites and that I have various other problems because of the installation. Personally, I am going to remove it from my system for now.
