Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer
This does not happens all the time but from time to time it will not spin during the spin cycle. It sounds like it's draining but nothing more happens. If I open up the lid and close it when it's happening, it will start spinning. If I manually start the spin cycle it's spinning whithout any problems.
This unit has a neutral drain transmission. When it first goes to spin it will drain without spinning to ease load on motor. It will then pause motor and when it restarts it then spins.
You probably have a bad timer that is not pausing the motor. Monitor washer from the start of spin cycle to end to see if it pauses then starts again. If not, replace timer.

the problem seems to be very different from a timer problem. I have the same problem and the drive block is what I want to look at first

Is it hard to change the timer

I work on these every day for the past 8 years and have never once seen this problem. If i had to guess i would assume its a stuck contact on the timer. The timer is the only thing that sends power down to the motor but its an expensive guess.
Hope this helps _MJ_
