Question about Dell E193FP 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

3 Answers

I have a 5 year old 1702FP. Recently it started going dark all of a sudden with the on/off button blinking. If you look carefully, at the same rate as it blinks you see a faint light flashing for a fraction of a second then it goes dark again. If I let it rest for an hour or so the problem goes away and it works fine. However it is not hear related because sometimes it happens first thing in the morning.

I've tried on on my MAC laptop with similar results. It might happen less often but still does happen.

I will try the capacitor (first the 10uf) change next. This may take me a few days. I will get back to you when I'm done.

    Thanks for your help.

After removing the stand and cover it looks like I have a different model than the one described in this article. I thought it was a 1702FP but below the cover it says E172FPb. The problem is that I cannot remove the plastic back cover. There is only one screwdriver-shaped opening at the bottom and the picture of a lock next to it so I'm sure there must be a way to open from there but everything I  tried did not work.  Any ideas?

Hello Victor Monty,

Check the video connector to make sure it is clean and tight. Look closely for broken or bent pins by GENTLY rubbing your finger across the pins.

Otherwise, there's definitely a broken relay inside that needs to be changed.

If it's under warranty, contact the manufacturer of your LCD for repair.

Have a great day!

Best Regards,

Firesnake09

The first thing you should check the video data cable. loose connection, bad port may cause such issues. Second run the monitor self test.

My DLink 5300 G internet camera suddenly says "No Signal."

  1. Remove the Java update and roll it back to the previous state.
  2. If it does not resolve the issue, reset the camera.
  3. Lightly insert a paper clip or a similar sized object into the reset hole on the back of the camera, press lightly and then release the button.
  4. The LED on the front of the camera will begin blinking red and green.
  5. When the LED stops the blinking, the reset has complete.
  6. If the issue is still present, restore the camera to factory settings.
  7. Insert the paperclip or other tool and press on the button continuously.
  8. Wait for the LED on the front of the camera to blink red and green and hold the button through two cycles of blinking (about 5-7 seconds.)
  9. Withdraw the tool after the second cycle of the LED blinking and factory restore has been completed.
  10. Run the installation wizard. If you don't have the installation CD, go to the manufacturer's website and download the software.

i think the power cord to your monitor is not fixed tightly. check the connections. or else the power On / Off button could have got damaged. replace it with the new one. if still the problem exists, servicing of the monitor will be the solution to it.

My top loading washing machine suddenly will not start.

LET ME SEE: YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE WASHER NOT STARTING, RIGHT? SOUNDS LIKE THE MOTOR HAS GONE BAD ON IT. BUT CHECK THE TIMER FIRST. IT COULD BE YOUR TIMER. IF IT AIN'T THAT, CHECK THE MOTOR AND CALL YOUR REPAIRMAN IMEDIATELY FOR SERVICE. WHAT BRAND AND YEAR IS YOUR WASHER?

no - unfortunately "any mechanic" does not have the training to troubleshoot an alarm system, and a dealership does not work on anything aftermarket.
Your best bet is to visit DEI (Directed Electronics Inc.) website and find an authorized dealer near you... most likely a car audio shop.
Best Buy usually hires newbies as installers and they dont have much experience... Look for an independant shop.

CLICK HERE to go to the Viper Site. (Find a Store is at the top of the page)

The brain module cannot be repaired - the ignition and starter relays are integrated on the controller board. Since it is 2 years old - there may not be a replacement part available.

Good Luck!!

Dell 1702FP 'tearing' after warmup

It might be a failing electrlytic or a heat-related issue with a transistor in the power supply, or it may be a problem in the video board. Sounds like will need good old-fashioned component-level troubleshooting.
