SOURCE: i have an error code

Error codes are given whenever the washer has a problem. Could be overuse of soap to overloaded clothes. Who knows? You ain't said what the error code is. Their are several styles of these machines. The Oasis, the Bravos, and the Cabrio are all tailored after the Fisher and Paykel washers. I have written a tip which features the error codes HERE

Hi.

To find the tech sheet you need to remove the top. The top is held by two clips that can be removed using a putty knife.

Regarding the error code F1 means Pressure Signal Out-Of-Range. Some forum incorrectly says that F1 means defective control board. Even if F1 may be caused by defective control its meaning according to service literature is: "F then 1 flashes when the control detects an out of range pressure signal."

Unfortunately the error sometimes occur when control board is faulty. Other times means that there is a clogged pressure hose. In some case the error is caused by use of incorrect detergent that clogs the pressure hose.

• Check pressure hose connection from tub to machine/motor control. Is hose pinched or kinked?
• If F then 1 repeats numerous times after POWER is pressed and the pressure hose connection is not pinched or kinked, replace the machine/motor control.

Here the service manual.

Regards.

Ginko

How do you remove the cover for Cabrio Platinum Top Load Washer to see if clothes have gotten stuck between wall & basket of washer. I can not wash one load without getting the UL Off Balance Code!

it is extremely unlikely that clothes have got to the position you mentioned
unbalance comes from
1--- clothes out of balance in the tub--too much on one side
2--machine not level on the floor --- rubber feet missing from adjuster bolts
3-- suspension rods and insulators for the tub broken or missing
these suspension rubbers/ plastics break on a regular basis and allow the tub to sit at an unlevel state causing an unbalance situation when spinning
top covers are either held in place with screws at the front and back ( under plastic trim buttons ) or simply clip on to the side walls at the top
talk with a service agent as to how to remove the top or download a workshop manual for the machine from the net

We just moved and the house came with a Maytag Neptune TL which won't spin if there are clothes in the cylinder. It will spin empty. Please help! Thanks.

Washer bangs around in spin cycle and throws a DC or UC unballance code with cloths in the wash basket is that correct?

If so it's a Clutch issue.

Maytag FAV6800AW won't spin. COuld this be the

Hello leaweber,

Yes most times it is a Clutch malfunction . Is the machine failing with “dc” and or “UC” unbalance error codes in spin cycle? If you are you may have a Clutch malfunction or Tub Displacement Sensor failure more likely a Clutch issue.

You can do a quick TDS sensor check thru the lid just follow this from the Service Manual. If you machine will pass the TDS check the next step would be to remove the clutch from the machine and inspect as I describe in this post.

Tub Displacement Sensor check from the SM slightly modified;

Tub Displacement Sensor Diagnostics check. This test is done with the washer lid raised see page 19 for the details.

It is possible the Tub Displacement Sensor may have failed try this check which is in the Troubleshooting guide stored in your washer console or refer to the SM.

a. Enter the Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”

b. Press the Super Wash key display reads “in”…something like that.

c. Press Delicates the Display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

d. Push tub to the back right corner of the machine the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

e. Press Hand Wash.

f. Pull tub to the front left corner while pushing the tub down the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

If you get these results your TDS sensor should be just fine. Time to look at a clutch repair/replacement. Let me know if you need help…. Rich aka dh1200s

Washer becomes unbalances on heavy loads already replaced springs

I have same issue... My model i s FAV6800AWW. Failure Code is dC and uC for unbalance. I had replaced the clutch assembly 4 months ago (dyi) due to no spin.. it worked fine until now, where the unbalance issue is happening. For this issue, I have self tested the displacement sensor and it worked fine... I saw that on another forum that struts may have been issue.. so, I replaced the front struts. The back of the tub is hooked in by two suspension rods. The washer is leveled.. The tub spins/works when there is NO clothes in the tub... Only when I add any clothes, the tub starts to spin wildly until the displacement sensor kicks in and/or retrys or shuts things down... what's left to do??

Not happy with Maytag Neptune TL Washer

I assume you are taking dc/UC errors to the console. This is a classic problem with the FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW after the 3yr to 5 yr mark. I own the machine and decided to learn what was involved to repair the machine. Take a look at this post and see if will give you some insight to a DIY fix to resolve the unbalance errors. No fix for the tumbler action of twisting up the clothes. After a re-lube of the one-way roller clutch bearing I could wash a single pair of socks or over load the wash basket with bath towels and extra water in the tub with no unbalance errors (dc/UC).

Shout back if you have any questions.

Here is a quick test for the TSD sensor but I believe you have a clutch issue. The TDS test is in the SM I’ve typed it out if you want to give a quick check. I’m sure you will pass and find the one-way roller clutch berings are dry/rusted and causing the dc/UC unbalance condition.

3.0 Tub Displacement Sensor Diagnostics check.

It is possible the Tub Displacement Sensor may have failed try this check which is in the Troubleshooting guide stored in your washer console or refer to the SM.

3a. Enter the Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”

3b. Press the Super Wash key display reads “in”…something like that.

3c. Press Delicates the Display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

3d. Push tub to the back right corner of the machine the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

3e. Press Hand Wash.

3f. Pull tub to the front left corner while pushing the tub down the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). If you get these results your Tub Displacement sensor should be OK and I believe it’s not the component failure producing dc/UC errors in spin cycle. I would remove the clutch for inspection and re-lube or replace if necessary. There is a more technical troubleshooting method to check Tub Displacement Sensor in the Troubleshooting guide and Service manual.
