no gas flow sounds like a bad gas regulato on the stove. as for the 5 year old ge profile with ignitors not working, you need a part called a spark modual

psnowden this can happen. If I remember correctly GE is using a Hi Temp paint, not porclean, on this range. And if they are using porclean, it is a thin coating. With current ranges the cooking oil gets into the finish and runs the heat up causing the finish to lift. The is espically true with white. The gentlest clean will in time not stop this from happening. You can get some hi temp touch up paint to make it look better, however it will keep doing this, espically on the burners you use the most.

If your top burners are not lighting or will not work, it is possible that the burners have become dirty or wet. Please follow the troubleshooting directions below before calling service:
If you hear clicking or sparking, go to Step 2.
If you do not, check your circuit breakers. If the circuit breaker is ok, we recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.
First remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Use a needle or paper clip to poke through the holes on the burner head. Re-assemble and try the burner.
Remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Even if it looks clean, wipe the tip of the electrode with a clean, dry paper towel and PRESS IT DOWN. Re-assemble and try the burner, again.
Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 3.
Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 4.

SOURCE: electric igniters dont shut off
Remember to turn the control knob past the "LITE" setting once the burner fires.
If that is not the issue you have one or more defective spark switches.
Each valve has its own switch wired in series with the others.

Try one to light one of the other burners that work and watch the electrode on the burner that does not light and see if you have spark when you here the clicking nois. (( most gas cooktop spark ignitor all spark at the same time, even if your only trying to light one burner ))
If you do have spark, Then the Ignitor switch is bad.
If you don't have spark then your spark modual is bad.
