My aqua drive 1100 auto reset pool pump runs warm and stops after a few seconds after i switch it on then goes on after a few minutes And this continues. Why

Thermal Overload Switch: Something is creating an overload on the pump. Once it is overworked, the motor will overheat. This will be sensed by the T.O. switch. Once the switch senses that the motor has cooled, it will start again.
Reasons for overload:
  • Bearings no longer spinning freely & without restriction
  • Foreign debris in the volute, jamming against the impeller
  • Failing T.O. switch
Good Luck

My compressor comes on for a few seconds, makes a slight humming sound, then quits altogether; any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is that something is DRAGGING or binding, which "overloads" the motor, and thus causes the thermal overload safety switch [inside the motor] to "open" thus PROTECTING the motor from overheat damage.

The only fix for this is to find, AND ELIMINATE, the drag or bind!!!!!

Hayward RS2000 suddenly stops. Motor housing is extremely hot and has a burnt smell. Thermal overload going bad?

it sounds like there may be a short in the pump. this will cause it to overheat and trip the thermal overload. it may be time for a new pump as this is usually cheaper than fixing it

Reciever message in dislay says overload.

Disconnect and reconnect all speaker connections, usually you get and overload when something isn't wired properly. Also make sure your unit well ventilated so that it doesn't overheat. If you still have problems then there could possibly be internal damage that may require electronic repair.

Door stopped working when I was trying to adjust the door. Blinking yellow light on the overhead unit

The motor has a thermal overload that will turn it off it if starts to overheat. Normally a 15 or 20 minute rest and it will automatically reset. The blinking yellow light may be sending a code. If it blinks 5 times and then pauses and then repeats it is the overload.

Freezer and refrigerator are not working Awoke to defrosted food in freezer and food no longer cold in refriferator

replace the rtc contactor overload on the compressors side body,it supplies current to start and operate the compressor,if the relay on the overload goes bad the compressor will try to run on the start windings and overheat and will not operate to cool the unit properly even if it sounds like its running,it just unplugs from the compressor

Motor will not start

I had the same problem and the solution was to manually press the thermal overload button. The button is located under the tool box next the motor head. I do not believe I tripped the thermal overload during use, but I suppose anything is possible. I’ve been using the compressor in sub 40 deg F. temperatures. I found the following in the Owner’s Manual, but had to look at the part manual to locate the switch.
PROTECTOR: The electric motor
has a manual thermal overload
protector. If the motor overheats
for any reason, the thermal
overload protector will shut off
the motor. Turn pressure switch
to the “off” position and wait for
unit to cool before pushing the
reset button and restarting the
