Most soap drawers have a little springy thing you press to allow it to come out, this stops it getting pulled all the way out by mistake, pull the drawer out as far as it will go gently till it stops then look for something that will move on the top where the soap goes, try pressing it, sometimes it is a different colour, if you found this the drawer will slide out when you press this bit, if there is nothing that moves or nothing to press then give the drawer a little bit extra force ( a short sharp tug) and it should just slide out that last little bit, to put it back just line it up with the slides and push gently back into place, it shouldn't be forced too hard to do this, it should just slide back

Softner is dispensed in Wash cycle

in the top of your soap draw compartment is a lever that switches the water jets over ( for instance on the main wash the jet arm is directed in the main wash compartment which will take away your main wash powder then it moves the jet are to the sofner compartment on the final rinse ) the jet arm somtimes jams and needs cleaning and the small holes above your draw compartments clog with lime build up the thing to do is take out your draw clean the inside at the top where the holes are and take the top off your machine there are two screws at the back top you will see the little ark on your soap draw it will have a return spring on it gently move it from side to side this will clear any obstuction make sure that it will spring back clean any line around the arm ( make sure you switch unplug your machine before you remove the top)

The whashing comes out with white powder like stuff. Can I clean the drum and if so how ? is it flint that gathers some where?

Hello Sir Tommis,

I understand that you are having a problem with your washing machine. When you wash clothes they come out with a white powder like substance on them. This white powder substance is the powder laundry soap that you are using.

This is generally caused by adding to much soap and clothes to the washing machine. The soap is not getting dissolved and the clothes do not have enough room to agitate in the machine. Try to put 3/4 of the amount of clothes in the washer with the same amount of soap and see if the clothes come out with the same powder like substance on them.

The clothes that currently have the soap on them will have to be hand washed with a scrub brush in oder to get the material off of them as running them though the washer will not remove the soaked in soap.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com

Soap not being used

We learned from our new Duet that when washing with Tide soap powder, there is an adjustment inside the pull out drawer where the soap powder goes. You will see a grey plastic slider that goes to the right for liquid soap & to the left for powder soap.
Moving this slider to the left corrected this problem - not using all of the soap powder needed - for us.
Good luck !

My washing machine wont take the soap powder and softener

It could be a water inlet valve that is at fault. Are the hot and cold supplies turned on? Try opening the powder draw very slightly when the machine is filling with water, if no water in powder draw, chances are that the inlet valve is at fault, situated on the inside of machine where the filler pipes connect. Unplug machine from power supply before checking the inlet valves with a resistance meter, making sure to disconnect wires from one terminal to avoid false readings. Tom.
