Do I need Microsoft NETfor a home Pc running XP?

That is a good question and the answer of course is "it depends".
Generally, your computer will work perfectly fine without .net framework installed.

But many applications (Paint.net, ATI video) and more and more web sites are using .net, so you might experience issues if you don't have it installed.

Microsoft's Silverlight also depends on it. (Silverlight is a browser based component that was developed as an opponent for Flash animations, interactivity, and other web effects.)

It is a platform often used by developers for small programs (Goggle Voice Notifier comes to mind)

You can find more information on .net can here.

So - you don't really need it, but your web browsing might be impacted and some application require it.

China a969 showing memory full during net browsing

okay. So your handsets says that memory is full. It means that you have surfed enough on your cell. So now, all you have to do is, 1. Open up your phone browser 2. In settings, go to clear browsing data. 3. when all the browsing data is cleared up, 4. Go to clear cache and cookies. 5. DONE ! now you may restart your browser and surf as usual.. HAPPY SURFING !!

I installed a software called flipdown screen and my nokia n81 only comming on and blanking off wat should i do

Hi,
Don't worry this caused because of two reasons
1)flipdown application might be corrupted or
2)You would have installed some virus in the name of flipdown .

Due to these two reason the phone is behaving like this

First try this:
1)Click the MENU button continuously now you can see the application running behind the screen.select all the application and close it.and go to menu->application->application manager delete the flipdown application.

2)Your not even able to do any thing you have to reset the phone
Hard reset code is type *#7370#
default code is 12345 unless your network provider has changed. If it is changed you have to call him and ask him about the code.

Note:If your phone is not willing to start up.you can try this.:
Press these buttons simultaneously for hard reset.
on/off + * + 3

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

My nokia n81 automaticly quit applycations and menu...

click and hold menu button, you should see all the applications that are currently running, select them one by one and close all of them keeping the "phone" application only.

then click once to open the menu.

you can also turn off the phone then on again. but make sure to fully EXIT the application after you finish using it. this will keep your batter life longer and save phone memory on your phone, it will also preform much faster.

let me know if this helped :)

Http/1.1 internal server error

If you are running two versions of ASP.NET, you may get HTTP:/1.1 500 Internal Server Error when creating a new Web project or opening an existing Web project in Visual Studio.

This problem may occur when IIS is not sure what version of ASP.NET to use or where to locate ASP.NET files. One of the following solutions should fix the problem.

Solution 1.

  1. Remove web.config file from inetpub/wwwroot directory
  2. Go to IIS, Right click on Default web site / All tasks / Check server extensions and let it run
  3. Reset IIS by right click on IIS or call iisreset from Run command

Solution 2.

  1. Install ASP.NET again using the following command from your Run command: C:WINNTMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv1.1.4322aspnet_regiis.exe
Make sure to change the windows folder and ASP.NET version folder with the version what you want to install
  2. Reset IIS

Solution 3. Applies to Windows Server 2003
Note: This is a Microsoft KB article:

When you try to create a new Microsoft ASP.NET 1.1 application after you change the script mapping of the existing ASP.NET 1.1 Web application to ASP.NET 1.0 on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer, you may receive the following error message:
The Web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/822319ev1'. 'HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error'.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because Windows Server 2003 does not allow two versions of ASP.NET to run in the same application pool.
WORKAROUND
To work around the problem, do one of the following:
Restart the IIS before you create a new ASP.NET 1.1 application. At the command prompt type the following command: iisreset
OR -
Create an ASP.NET application in a separate application pool. Create the script-mapped application (ASP.NET 1.0) in a separate application pool -- for example, in the ScriptMapappPool application pool. Then, create a new ASP.NET 1.1 application in an application pool other than ScriptMapappPool. For more information about how to create an application pool, visit the following Microsoft Web site: Configuring Application Pools http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/1kdfe21k(VS.80).aspx
